And to confirm it failed:

It didn’t fail. It’s one anecdotal opinion against another. In the scheme of this there are 75 million reasons HomePod “failures” and others cited are fake news.

After a year or so they stopped producing them. Seems like a failure to me if that product was in a high demand 🤔
The product did what it was intended and it was cited best in class for sound. As AVP isn’t a failure. And as I said above there are 75 million reasons these products didn’t fail.

Oh please… Apple titan was a very costly mistake and too much to ask for a company that’s not able to get a working personal assistant in 13+ years.

If the brains of a car won’t work… the rest is useless.

In the meantime many competitors introduced a very smart well built EV. Xiaomi for example introduced their avatar. So did Huawei.

If those cars weren’t banned from the US market to protect GM, Ford the car market would look totally different in the USA today. Same for BYD, Zeekr, etc.

Apple wouldn’t stand a chance and that’s why they killed Titan.

Interesting. It sounds like you have Apple inside information. Please share.

Perhaps you could address why the project was killed right after the US announced the 100% tariff that would have been imposed on Apple's car.

Please talk about how Apple would have achieved success with the American public needing to pay 2X for Apple's car.

You really think Apple would succeed with a braindead assistant?

And most of the EV’s also the American ones are produced in China. At least the batteries all come out China.

Meaning all cars will have to deal with higher tariffs not only Apple.

I never even understood why Apple would want to make a car

It is a tiny margin business in comparison to areas they normally operate in.

It also has loads of regulatory and support concerns

Not all cars. Teslas are manufactured in the San Francisco Bay Area, Texas, and in Germany. Some were manufactured in China, which are now transitioning to the above plants. Batteries and motors/powertrains in Nevada and another factory in California.

Tesla does great. Good software and real innovation. Too bad mister Musk is becoming so controversial.

The biggest threat to Tesla right now is musk and his personality and how he’s decided to get super super political

For Tesla itself that’s a big disadvantage as it really does turn off a lot of people

I have some “moderate to right wing friends” (hard to know how to describe them these days) who also have Teslas, and even they would prefer that he was not so out in the open on some of this.

They feel like his specific views get mapped onto them just because they own Teslas

Living in the SF Bay Area, I know people who can't wait to get rid of theirs. And will go with BMW EVs. The iX, appears to be at the top of their lists. I might as well.

That’s a pitty. I admire Tesla as a company. They really moved the needle in sustainability. Musk still is a good technology visionar. I hope he would stay to that because it really hurts Tesla and its employees.

I have a GM EV because it was a great deal and I totally love it…

The main thing that turns me off of Tesla at this point is kind of how I feel about iPhones.

The designs are just kind of stale to me at this point.

A lot of their lineup is due for a serious refresh not just this slight tweaking they keep doing

New model Y just got launched and I do like the front. The back not so much. But they keep on changing the car with OTA updates. I’m driving Peugeot 😂😂

Yeah. It’s a nice tweak on the front.

I think I heard they relented on some of the interior stuff too, right? Like the turn signal stalk issue?
Yes, it’s now the same as the new model 3. But they’ve totally changed how the car is built. Maybe I should buy some Apple shares to save for a Tesla 😂😜

Oh dear. This “well known Apple tax” has been going on for a long time. Plus why pay the Apple tax? Perhaps another corporation would be to your liking.
If this “Apple tax” thing is going on for so long, maybe there is some truth in it.

I’m certainly not buying Apple gear at the moment. But when in the future a better value for money comes along maybe I will.

I’m thinking of a Pixel 10 Pro. Saw some renders and was impressed. Even with the latest android.

It’s an internet meme like the Ferrari tax, or Gucci tax.

Those who think apple gear isn’t a value proposition, likely won’t think like that in the future either.

There is definitely an Apple tax in regards to component upgrade pricing.

I don’t think anybody could actually deny that one

No you’re wrong upgrading RAM and SSD’s are a bargain at Apple 🤥

Too bad they don’t let you do it yourself as it used to be. You’re forced to do so by Apples prices even when you can get the same SSD or RAM at a fraction of the cost elsewhere.

Isn’t this also not a sort of lock in?

Most of these professions don't make that kind of money, not even close....
You mean like:

  • LeBron James (Basketball) - $128.2 million
  • Stephen Curry (Basketball) - $102 million
  • Lamar Jackson (Football) - $100.5 million
  • Joe Burrow (Football) - $100 million
  • Kevin Durant (Basketball) - $93.3 million
  • Aaron Rodgers (Football) - $90 million
  • Giannis Antetokounmpo (Basketball) - $88.5
