Your question would have been the first sentence in my posting - but you were first. So I just quote your posting. It seems most of the comments have not seen this part :
"Cook was derided on social media and in news articles for his bootlicking, but it has been successful for Apple. Apple continues to be largely exempt from the high tariffs that have been imposed on countries like China and India."
It's very easy to feel superior, pure and virtuous while sitting comfortably at home, but if the Big Mafia Boss comes to your company along with a bunch of thugs swinging baseball bats, and says "Nice company you have there. It would be a shame if something bad happened to it ", well, you pay the "protection" fee , because there is no police to protect you, the Don owns the police as well.
What would you have done instead ? Refuse and let him destroy Apple just to look like a heroic martyr ?
I actually feel bad for Tim Cook. He certainly knew he was going to be publicaly humiliated on social media , but he did what he had to do to protect Apple from the Orange Psychopath.
Any notice that Governor Gavin Newsom is creating Trump-like posts in social media. Trump controlled media is responding and saying how unprofessional of his posts. But that is kinda of the point is to point how Trump normalizes insane posts that you would normally not see from a President. It is an interesting strategy to help point that out.
I still miss the South Park older episodes when they created a character to represented Trump without having to use his actual image. I guess not being subtle and just spelling it out is the new strategy going forward. South Park is not holding back anymore.
I felt the same way. I don't wanna see di*ks every 5 minutes just to get some shock factor. The Boys ruined that pretty quick. it was like 1 DPE and now its like 5 DPE (Di*ks per episode)It has nothing to do with being old. If you go watch the old episodes they are great, this here is just mediocre commedy. They are still relevant because they use today topics, if they didn’t people wouldn’t care about them anymore.
What would you have done instead ?
One can get the impression that Trump himself is is quite left-leaning.Is it fair to say this is a left leaning forum? He did win the popular vote but everything so far is negative about him on here

It is successful because it is corruption. Tim Cook and most CEOs and corporations are only about the bottom line. Cook's decisions with Trump have profited him and the company in the short term.It seems most of the comments have not seen this part :

It was a investment one that may be already paying dividends. Not sure how people dont understand this all a game.Cook 100% deserves all the flak he's getting from this decision.
So in the position "sink or swim", you would have sunk, right? It is successful because it is corruption. Tim Cook and most CEOs and corporations are only about the bottom line. Cook's decisions with Trump have profited him and the company in the short term.
I'd have made a different decision, but people that would make a different decision don't rise to become CEOs of major companies. They don't become billionaires. History will not look back on this kindly.
Becuase he won the vote based on how many people voted, and while more than nomal voted in this last election, about a 1/3 of the US didn't vote.Is it fair to say this is a left leaning forum? He did win the popular vote but everything so far is negative about him on here
Exactly! And what people always fail to either mention or realize, is that companies in the US don't have to go public and throw all morals, honor, and integrity out the window to boost the bottom line to appease the board and shareholders. People make that decision. It is successful because it is corruption. Tim Cook and most CEOs and corporations are only about the bottom line. As it’s always been; “Ya’gotta’ pay ta’ play” — especially with the crooked GRIFT the trump crime family plays! It seems most of the comments have not seen this part :

I mean... You could be a Republican and still hate Trump. The way Americans are so obsessed over a person, especially a POLITICIAN is just strange to me. Having a two party system doesn't really help I guess. It's like watching Apple VS Android people fight. You'd think a president has the interest of ALL people on their mind, not just the ones that voted for that person for various reasons but the US is unfortunately leaning more into the whole "omg this idea is from the "other side?!" - REJECTED. This is why I prefer a multi party system. You can't decide anything on your own and always need the support of others to find a middle ground.
Say what you will … trump may have won the popular vote but he’s done nothing but screw up the country since his inauguration! Is it fair to say this is a left leaning forum? He did win the popular vote but everything so far is negative about him on here
I would if they were made in the USA. I already pay $2,000 for my phones as it stands today, so I wouldn't sweat it at all.So you would accept paying $2000 or $3000 for an iPhone ?
I'll make you a bet that it will make zero difference and people will continue to buy Apple just as they have in the past. Very different to the world where Apple gets slapped with crazy tariffs all over the place for not falling in line, then the "people" will stop buyingExactly! Yeah it does turn into an apple v android type debate.
I’m more right leaning but that doesn’t mean I agree with everything they say and I sometimes like ideas from in the middle and left. We just need the best ideas.
I miss being in my 20’s when I didn’t watch the news and coasting through life blissfully unaware!
Even if somehow this happen, all this would mean is a robot in US made it vs one somewhere else and we would have to pay for all the investment cost to build factories.I would if they were made in the USA. I already pay $2,000 for my phones as it stands today, so I wouldn't sweat it at all.
Gee, I can't imagine why you'd be upset with it and not be able to watch it. Hummm. I guess, wait. Should we all guess? Satire works on bullies, thus the old man in orange face make-up has only bluster and cruelty. But I still wonder what changed for you?Guess I'm just getting old. I used to love South Park, but I stopped watching it years ago and couldn't get through the first episode of this season after it was recommended to me.
Eye roll.It has nothing to do with being old. If you go watch the old episodes they are great, this here is just mediocre commedy. They are still relevant because they use today topics, if they didn’t people wouldn’t care about them anymore.
