What would you have done instead ? Refuse and let him destroy Apple just to look like a heroic martyr ?
I actually feel bad for Tim Cook. He certainly knew he was going to be publicaly humiliated on social media , but he did what he had to do to protect Apple from the Orange Psychopath.
I am with you on that -- I actually do feel bad for Cook. Unlike some of these CEOs who I think have actually gone MAGA (e.g. Zuckerberg, Bezos, etc.), I feel like Cook feels humiliated but has to do what's best for Apple. I might be naive about it, but everything Cook has ever done outside of business feels... not Trumpian.

Gee, I can't imagine why you'd be upset with it and not be able to watch it. Hummm. I guess, wait. Should we all guess? Satire works on bullies, thus the old man in orange face make-up has only bluster and cruelty. But I still wonder what changed for you?
I never said I was upset dude. Nothing about that show upsets me. I just didn’t find it amusing and was pretty bored the whole time I was watching it.

Is it fair to say this is a left leaning forum? He did win the popular vote but everything so far is negative about him on here
Plenty of traditionally right leaning folk think that Trump is a complete nightmare. Put another way, people don’t dislike Trump just because they are ‘left leaning’.

It’s important to realise that the concept of Right vs Left is for the most part divisive nonsense used to encourage folk to only believe what they are told by thier ‘side’ whilst dismissing the opinions of others out of hand. It’s all about keeping you from questioning things and thinking for yourself. Try to unshackle yourself from it, it’s a false dichotomy.

So if Cook did the "right thing" and didn't bootlick him, and Apple got slapped with a 3000% tarriff ( or whatever number TACO feels like that day ), you would accept paying $2000 or $3000 for an iPhone ?
Where's the line? Does any "right thing" get thrown out if there's a financial benefit? How big of a "right thing?" How much financial benefit?

Yeah, kinda notice that when Biden was wondering off stage, or staring off into nothing - Southpark has absolutely nothing to say? When Kamala was rambling on .... on any number of situations "unburdened by what has been", Southpark was somehow looking the other direction. For 8 years, SouthPark covered for Biden/Harris - ignoring the stampeding hordes crossing a non-existing border, inflation, chickens being slaughtered so egg prices could soar (funny the only chickens being killed where laying hens, not meat chickens - nothing to see there at all).
But as soon as Trump steps in - center of attention.
SouthPark USED to make everyone a fair target, that's fine. (Attack Christians, Mormons, Scientology, Jews - but wait, can't attack Muslims, or Hindi - protected classes). Making fun of everyone, everyone is fair game. Sadly they have demonstrated that this is NOT the situation. They had DEI that was comedy gold, ignored. A senile president, Pelosi and her husband front and center - absolute silence. Fauxahantus, (Elizabeth Warren) who took advantage of entitlements she wasn't entitled to, for decades - completely ignored. AOC which is comedy gold - again, ignored.
Hardly "everyone is fair game" at all, is it?

It's interesting that all federal employees are forbidden from receiving gifts that are valued over $20 per occasion and not over $50 per year from the same source. And this is for personal gifts ONLY, where there is no overt attempt to gain the employees favor in exchange for any sort of favor leveraged by their position. However, when you reach the level of congress and the executive branch, these policies become very very vague and allow elected officials to easily work around these loose policies. Why these appointed/elected officials are not bound to the same policy is beyond me, they have exponentially more power to leverage their position for personal gain than the average government employee.

And this, folks, is why most of congress are multi-millionaires, i.e. Nancy Pelosi, who did not make the lion's share of her wealth prior to her career in office. Ask yourself how does someone accumulate wealth on this level on a capped salary under $200k (as of 2025)?

It’s corruption plain and simple. Much like the tax code, the loopholes are on purpose so “technically it’s a-ok”. And still you will see nobodies defending it because “hey that guy is *my* team!”

Yeah so crazy that Matt and Trey didn’t cover weird right wing conspiracies about egg prices. Maybe because their brains aren’t mush…

Too often, we are challenged to make the decision: Would you rather be virtuous or wealthy?
I would like to think Cook would have made different decisions if it were just for himself, but he is in charge of the whole company right now, and as much as I hate to admit it, he probably did what he had to do. But it does make you want to hurl.

I’d do the same thing as Tim. Praising Trump and giving him gifts = getting whatever you want.

There is no left wing in this country anymore. Even Bernie Sanders is centrist when you compare our politics to developed countries. Everywhere else has or is at least close to universal healthcare.

Trump wins because his base is devoted and 100% of base turns out to vote and the Dems didn’t run on any of their accomplishments (that the republicans are all taking credit for now) and only running on hating Trump isn’t ever going to win.

The cruelty of Trump’s policies is just now hitting harder. They painted over the rainbow street crossing at the Pulse nightclub in Orlando. They are trying to overturn gay marriage. Yet the Secretary of the Treasury is gay married with kids. But he’s a billionaire I’m sure they will be fine.

Tim really has no choice in the matter. Suck up to the Don or Apple is dead. Trump is the best dictator of the decade. I should give him a trophy for that. 🙄

Gotta keep babies happy or they go twilight zone on you.
If only there were some way to wish him into the cornfield!
One of my favorite twilight zones ever!

There's a number of people who post in these forums who want Apple to be penalized in any way possible for any possible excuse. They celebrate any misstep Apple may make. I don't get it. Human nature is funny.

2024 vote totals:

Donald Trump: 77,302,580
Kamala Harris: 75,017,613

Now, maybe with an Android calculator 75 million is more than 77 million, but for those of us in the real world it's the opposite.

3rd party candidates got 3,058,275, so..

Trump: 77,392,580
Not Trump: 78,075,888

In my perfect world, you would have to have >50% of the vote to win. If no one gets that, then you have a run-off. Either way, he didn't get the majority of the vote. He got the highest percentage, at 49.8%, of the voters.

Enough with the orange-nosing, Tim.

I love South Park, but if this entire season is gonna be about Orange man bad, then they've lost me as a fan.

They did nothing on Biden, and nothing on Kamala, while giving Trump and Vance the Saddam Hussein treatment with the actual picture for their heads.

The bias is clearly showing.

“Look at what some dips**t tech CEO gave me” probably how everyone feels about Tim Cook tbh
Exactly the opposite. Anyone with any business sense sees Cook as what he is: a superb tech CEO. As to his obviously distasteful interaction with the narcissist in the White House, it is part of his job. He has to play up to the sicko narcissist because he is POTUS.
