They are not white. No need to beat around the bush here. I'm an immigrant, at a time illegally, but I am white and no one in America have ever cared that I came here or shown hostility towards me.

youre probably not wrong at least in part of the problem

Unless you are descended from a Native American tribe, you really aren't either. And I'd prefer any of these dreamers to any of the native-born dregs we have here who seem to be more into opioids, white supremacy, and militias than contributing to this nation.

So honouring the laws of the land, obeying the rules, and properly obtaining rights to be and work in the country is exactly the same as sneaking in and disrespecting the country and its people.

Are you saying that the aboriginals are on one tier, and everyone else from 8th generation Americans, to first generation citizens who played by the book to people illegally in the country are on an equal tier?

Then why should anyone have any respect for the rules; everyone should just do what's best for themself, take all that they need and want, and if anyone complains, scream racism.

Mr. Cook, please refrain from making altruistic statements when your motive is exactly the opposite. You want DACA to continue because it makes money for you. You essentially claim that U.S. citizens are too stupid to work for Apple so you must employ illegals.

I think Tim Cook should be more worried about his next job after the 1st iPhone without a Home Button flops.

As for the DACA executive action, it had already been determined to be Constitutionally illegal.
But at the same time, no one in America wants people punished for something that they themselves did not do or is not their fault.

I hope a Congressional compromise is worked out for those already here and am glad the loophole is closed in the future so we don't keep having this mess. Comprehension immigration reform is the only long-term solution.

The demagoguery on this issue is off the charts. The dirty secret is that Corporate America and its CEOs want CHEAP LABOR instead of paying Americans fair wages. Tim Cook calls them "Dreamers", but they're helping pay for his learjet. His faux caring is not fooling me. For CEO's like Cook, it's a fake narrative that makes him look good for the wrong reasons.

DACA as an executive order is unconstitutional. A version of DACA as passed by congress is not unconstitutional and Trump will support it.... as soon as tax reform is also signed, which Tim Cook wants badly for Apple, a replacement for Obamacare is signed and an infrastructure bill is signed..... Did we really think Trump was just going to give up on his agenda? He is only trying to force congress to do their job. Whats the worst that could happen for Trump? more name calling?

Continued, willful ignorance of the illegal immigrants is not the answer. It is time for Congress to pass meaningful immigration reform that includes early identification of people who are in the country illegally and ensuring they are brought into compliance or deported in a reasonable period of time. Some allowance may need to be made for those that have slipped through the cracks for many years, but future enforcement simply must be structured to keep the situation from festering as long as it has in the past.

While I'm certainly no supporter of the "Papers please" oversight of the government like people faced in East Germany in the '50s - '80s, it is not unreasonable to expect parents of children to provide proof of legal residency before receiving public benefits including health care and education. With today's information systems it should be quite easy to ensure everyone is in compliance with immigration laws and track down those that should have left after overstaying a tourist visa.

The blame for any child "who grew up in the United States and have lived in the country since childhood could face deportation to countries that are essentially foreign to them" falls squarely on the parents. I feel bad for those kids, but if we simply grant citizenship based on their lack of knowledge of the illegal actions of their parents it will do nothing but encourage that continued behavior. We have to make the consequences serious enough to act as a discouragement for other contemplating the same actions.
I can't say that I disagree with most of this, I would also say that there needs to be reforms made to make it easier for those who come here legally to legally bring their spouse and children here. I have seen many people who came here legally and worked for years and the government still denied letting their spouse and children come, and they had been in their home country for many years before coming here for work.

What I will disagree slightly is that if these children have taken no actions to become legal during the two years they got under this program, then they need to face the consequences, but if they have made the effort and are still in the process, then I can see extending the program for them to allow them time to complete the process.

I wonder if I sneak into an Apple Store or onto the new Apple Campus and start working if Tim will protect me and my right to be there working? What about if I sneak a child in with me. Will he kick me out but allow the child to stay working?

That's a basic and petty way of thinking about this. Bravo on oversimplifying something that is clearly more complicated than that.

next on the chopping block: citizenship by birth, I am shocked it hasnt even been brought up yet or is this one of those things protected by the holy and untouchable constitution?
Actually it is not in the constitution at all, it was a court ruling that defined it. To me logic would dictate that if at least one parent is a citizen, then the child should be a citizen, otherwise no citizenship for the child.

It's just so ironic. You beat them to the partisan punch. The polarization on both sides is a major reason that we can't get a rational discussion and solution happening.
Really, I think I was quite rational, which proves we CAN have a rational discussion.

Why not try out Mexico if you "prefer" illegal aliens? As you noted, America has enough problems and has actual Americans to take care of and borders to protect. Immigration is great, and that is what America is about, but the immigration being LEGAL is an important distinction and shouldn't be so scandalous to talk about.

Yes, the holy constitution and rule of law. Despite all of our problems, it's why the United States is not a basket case like most of Europe, Africa and the Middle East.

Wonder if the scenario were like this...

Tim Cook gets a call from his broker. His broker says "Tim, your account has been hacked, $300 million has been stolen from your account" ... several years later, it turns out someone stole the money, then gave it to their kid. Their kid, when confronted by the authorities says "It's my money, I have a right to it. I wasn't involved in taking it, it was just given to me without my involvement"

Do you think Timmy will be so compassionate? Surely he'll let the kid keep the money, because, look, it's not their fault they got the money. They didn't CHOSE to get the money. And they were too young to know any better. So being involved with a crime, even indirectly, surely should be forgiven by those wronged.

Funny how when the left-wing, agenda-driven media isn't involved with a real narrative, it seems different. But hey, Tim Cook can be a hypocrite and pretend to be a bleeding heart when if it was him that was affected, we know he'd be on the opposite side. And the funny part is Apple's workforce has been up to a third comprised of H1B visa sponsorships... a bit hypocritical for someone taking his position.
