I think it’s commendable that some citizens want to provide jobs and opportunities for everyone in the world. Also think it’s great when people are pro life, protecting the rights of an unborn child. Now, these people need to provide housing, education, food, jobs, and productive environment for these children and immigrants. They better not come asking me to subsidize all this!

It’s really quite shocking how virtuous some people come across, yet they are often financially degenerate and unable to make a reality all these commendable things they preach.

DACA as an executive order is unconstitutional. A version of DACA as passed by congress is not unconstitutional and Trump will support it.... as soon as tax reform is also signed, which Tim Cook wants badly for Apple, a replacement for Obamacare is signed and an infrastructure bill is signed..... Did we really think Trump was just going to give up on his agenda? He is only trying to force congress to do their job. Whats the worst that could happen for Trump? more name calling?

Funny you say that...since he is threatening and acting out towards the same Congress he badly needs to pass these assinine "orders".

Actually it is not in the constitution at all, it was a court ruling that defined it. To me logic would dictate that if at least one parent is a citizen, then the child should be a citizen, otherwise no citizenship for the child.

That is how it is over here and i think if the parents only gained our citizenship (e. g. having lived and worked here for more than 8 years) and still have their „old“ citizenship, the child will have to choose which one to keep when they turn 18

Are we really going to the native Americans?

zero to do with Native Americans and things that happened in the 1800's.

1800s? If you're going to talk about a subject, you should at least be somewhat familiar with it. What tiny, cushy little bubble do you live in that Native peoples and nations don't still exist and live every day in the reality defined and continually shaped by that ONGOING history.

Yes, it's relevant. You can try to pound stakes in the timeline immediately before and after your presence on an ancient, complicated, dynamic country as the only span of relevance, but to think others aren't going to recognize & point out how absurdly foolish you're being takes... something else.

"America promises all its people"

"Dreamers" are not American.

But they are people, and as such should be treated like it.

President Trump wants to stop illegal immigrants from taking American jobs, oh the humanity!!!

The same person that hires immigrants for Mar-a-lago and sends clothing production out of the country instead of providing jobs here? You mean that person?

You're funny.

I sympathize with the Dreamers. They should be given green cards at a minimum, but only as part of a comprehensive immigration plan that includes building the wall. This can't simply be allowed to happen over and over again. If you're going to solve every problem with an unending series of amnesties, you might as well just declare open borders and forget about the issue altogether.

PSA: "Dreamers" are not Americans, they are illegal aliens granted a work permit based on an unconstitutional executive order called DACA.
That has been my question. Are the 250 Apple Employee "Dreamers" that Tim is talking about all have work permits? If so, for how long? Do they have valid SSN's? Really just curious. My personal stance is I think we need immigration reform but I think it must include border security as a prerequisite. We already did this with President Reagan in 1983 but we never did border security and look where we are now. We really need to push back on the Open Border Crowd.

Wonder if the scenario were like this...

Tim Cook gets a call from his broker. His broker says "Tim, your account has been hacked, $300 million has been stolen from your account" ... several years later, it turns out someone stole the money, then gave it to their kid. Their kid, when confronted by the authorities says "It's my money, I have a right to it. I wasn't involved in taking it, it was just given to me without my involvement"

Do you think Timmy will be so compassionate? Surely he'll let the kid keep the money, because, look, it's not their fault they got the money. They didn't CHOSE to get the money. And they were too young to know any better. So being involved with a crime, even indirectly, surely should be forgiven by those wronged.

Funny how when the left-wing, agenda-driven media isn't involved with a real narrative, it seems different. But hey, Tim Cook can be a hypocrite and pretend to be a bleeding heart when if it was him that was affected, we know he'd be on the opposite side. And the funny part is Apple's workforce has been up to a third comprised of H1B visa sponsorships... a bit hypocritical for someone taking his position.

I enjoyed reading your comment until you went to the left-wing insult paragraph. Try to avoid that part going forward, it just turns off middle of the aisle people when left and right folks boil down complex discussions/topics to banal insults based upon aisle locations. :)

That's a basic and petty way of thinking about this. Bravo on oversimplifying something that is clearly more complicated than that. You must have done great in the 6th grade
I think he makes it somewhat convoluted points about the fact that, while Tim comes across as an angel, he’s using his bully pulpit to push his company’s agenda: access to cheaper and better engineers. If you truly believe Tim lives to help the helpless, ask him why margins are so high.

Sincerely, a shareholder.

Sure. They can be treated as people. People in the country illegally. Life isn't fair. If you have to make exceptions for every case that breaks your heart you will no longer have rules.

And then we can be like Europe.

Who do you think is going to clean your things?

The reason the "latino labor force" exists is because of illegal immigration. Do you travel much? Go to the UK, or France, or Australia. They don't have the under the table workforces America has, therefor there's not a population available to clean your house for $5 an hour. When that segment doesn't exist, do you think people just have dirty houses? No, it's legal workers doing the work for legal wages. Your argument is so stupid.

Why not try out Mexico if you "prefer" illegal aliens? As you noted, America has enough problems and has actual Americans to take care of and borders to protect. Immigration is great, and that is what America is about, but the immigration being LEGAL is an important distinction and shouldn't be so scandalous to talk about.

You mean a huge portion of "Americans" who abuse the welfare program and don't provide a dime to the American economy?
I'm gonna go rob an Apple store and give all the products to my kids. Sounds like Timmy wouldn't make them give anything back. /s

Free publicity.

Call it even.

Funny you say that...since he is threatening and acting out towards the same Congress he badly needs to pass these assinine "orders".

Replace the word congress with "the establishment" and you will realize he has been doing it all along and that is why he got elected. Now he has something they want.... and they can get it... if they play ball. He is negotiating and the louder the fever pitch over rescinding DACA, the more ammunition he has. They have 6 months .. will they put a real immigration reform bill on his desk?

After just returning from a protest at the local immigration office here in Phoenix, I applaud Tim for speaking out and being a leader on this issue and for standing up for not only his employees but also the thousands affected by today's decision.

I can't say that I disagree with most of this, I would also say that there needs to be reforms made to make it easier for those who come here legally to legally bring their spouse and children here. I have seen many people who came here legally and worked for years and the government still denied letting their spouse and children come, and they had been in their home country for many years before coming here for work.

What I will disagree slightly is that if these children have taken no actions to become legal during the two years they got under this program, then they need to face the consequences, but if they have made the effort and are still in the process, then I can see extending the program for them to allow them time to complete the process.

Good points in all of this. However, it is up to the Congress to set laws and policies. As it now stands, these kids are considered illegal aliens under the current law. If you do not like that, it is up to the Congress to change the law. The president cannot unilaterally change the law by executive order, although Obama tried.

But they are people, and as such should be treated like it.
You seem to be part of the group that supports Open Borders. Are you? Do you have any limit for the millions of people that may want to come from all around the world? As you say, they are people as well? I think most of us could agree on a sane immigration policy but it must be "sane". Some Democrats feel we should have FREE Health Care for All and Free Education for All and at the same time feel we should have Open Borders. Some compare back to the 1800's where we did not have FREE Anything and somehow think that kind of logic would apply today. It won't.

Unfortunately there's no such thing as middle of the road anymore. The democrats have hijacked Bush's "You're either with us, or against us" and turned that motto into their party slogan. The right could come up with the best plan ever, and the left will protest it. You didn't see the right out in the streets protesting the unconstitutional things Obama did. You didn't see the right unhinged every night on TV because they disagreed with Obama. What you did see is the right doing what America was founded on, fair elections, which is why things did an about-face last November, and is where we are now. You don't get your way by making up unconstitutional laws, nor rioting in the streets. You get your way by advocating change, and electing representation that'll do it.
