"Cook reiterated his stance on privacy, and called it a "fundamental human right"

He seems to have a selective definition of "privacy".

How easy is it to purchase and use a new Apple product and not give Apple any personal information?

I would think about the same as google.

Ace like it. Make us believe it.

I think the power is now shifted to the user and that has been What Apple has always been about - giving the power from the institution to the user. I am hopeful great things are going to happen from this.

If this was true he following would never have occurred:

Launching an app forces the end user to see the developers logo splash front and center for several seconds taking away screen real-estate and cursor control away. Users know what app they’ve launched and a notification isn’t that what the Dock is for?!

This whole business of tracking, cookies, data collection of users eithout clear notification and consent would’ve never occurred Apple!

Safari would be available feature set parity for Windows users. Surely you know a huge percentage of Windows users use iOS especially in the corporate space.

Google would not have grown beyond web browser company and THEY should be paying users a decent amount for collecting our data based on information, behaviour and interests.

End user data privacy is becoming if nothing short of a holy war!

Hehehe!! In that case he would do well in keeping his sexuality for his private life, like most of us do. Mr. Cook is the CEO of one of the most famous companies worldwide, not just another John Doe giving a speech in a park. Anything he says has a huge impact in the media worldwide. He knows it and sure you know it too. Besides, what he considers, only he knows.
He does keep it in his private life, but he is allowed to support gay rights. I'm sorry that you don't see him as equal to you, but get over it.

They're paying you in free services.

In the beginning it seemed like a free trade ... yet lately doesn't seem that the trade is free and fair on both sides any longer. If it was, the devices would be significantly cheaper than Apple's ... you do recall Google officially stating that long ago didn't you? I sure do.

I do not.

Datenschutzrichtlinie von Apple teilweise rechtswidrig

"Apple's privacy policy partially unlawful

Apple had granted itself extensive rights to use customer data in the 2011 Privacy Policy. Under this policy, personal information should also be used for advertising, product and service improvement, and "internal purposes. Among other things, the company identified itself as having the right to share personal information with "strategic partners" and even to evaluate customers' precise location data for advertising purposes and make it available to other companies. Consumers were not asked whether they agreed.
[...]
The Appellate Court emphasised that the DSGVO in force since 25 May 2018 was also applicable to clauses previously used. [...]" (Translated with www.DeepL.com/Translator)
