Congrats to Mr. Cook for amazing growth for Apple over so many years. Hopefully Apple will continue to grow under Mr. Ternus. So much respect for both (unlike many on this forum).
AAPL took a quick dive but then settled back to just slightly down after hours. Will be interesting to see how it goes tomorrow.

Great to have an insider take over the cruise liner. Nothing will change but why does it need to for these old clowns accumulating stock options for the moment.
Apple needed an innovator in AI not a guy to make shiny buttons on hardware.

I think it says something that the person taking over is the current hardware chief. Just cements that Apple is hardware company first and foremost.

Bittersweet news. Nobody better at managing margins than Tim. But sweet that there will be a fresh captain at the wheel. Hopefully there’s big stuff in the pipeline.

Tim Cook had very big shoes to fill, but ultimately he did great work in making Apple one of the most valuable companies worldwide. That being said the change and CEO could not have come at a better time. Smart phones have stagnated and we are quickly approaching the new augmented reality era. If Apple is going to maintain this leadership position through this transition, having a hardware guy at the helm might be their best bet.

Maybe there's hope for, when you press the play button in Apple TV, it actually starts to play your movie instead of showing an ad for some show you will never ever watch. Go John Go!🍸😸

I read here and there that Ternus is the man behind the butterfly keyboard, the Touch bar, the Vision pro and the iPhone air... But also the guy behind the M-series chip transition. I guess you learn from your mistakes...

No point in talking about total failures that are dead products walking
I literally told a friend 4 days ago after he showed me a video of his iPhone playing up during a photo edit that Tim can’t be gone soon enough.

You can't look at Apple's revenue and sales graph since 2011 and argue that Tim was an unsuccessful CEO on a metric that, like it or not, is really important.
Since 2011 Apple has lost its flair, imagination, and verve, though, while still making very good, buttoned-down products that sell like crazy. I don't think they make many viscerally desirable products anymore. I hope a change at the top can help with that, but I don't know much about Ternus' taste and where he falls on a hypothetical Steve-Tim spectrum.

Tim Cook is so dull, his memoirs would be an autobiography titled “Supply Chain Optimization: A Love Story.”
Apple is like a boat, taking on water, and it's John's job to point the boat in the right direction!

As Gruber pointed out back then, almost all press reporting of that made it into something he didn't say: he said he'd remain at apple for a long time. He'll be chairman now, he'll remain at apple for a long time...
