So...any chance we will get new computers with actual bright lovely colours instead of the "let's try not to offend anyone so let's just have as blunt colours as possible....kill all saturation" ? Perhaps even translucent cases? How about 27"+ iMacs? Asking for a friend.

Thank you so much for the amazing journey, Tim Cook!
Congratulations to John Ternus, excited to see where you’ll take Apple next.

Apple has had great hardware success. But the “wow” factor has been missing for sometime, and that’s largely due to the software.

Watching Tim Cook’s public choices while his company harps about “values” was actually a relief, it means I can toss that facade out the window and judge them solely by their devices and software.

Negativity aside, Cook had a good run but it’s time for a change. I expect the foldable iPhone will deliver a hardware “wow” factor that’s been missing, and it’s got a big hole to dig itself out of, but if they can overdeliver on their revamped Siri, that would be a good way to kickstart this guy’s stint.

A family friend is a *very* successful investment broker and about 15 years ago I asked him if I should buy Apple stock. He said no, Steve Jobs was very sick then and he feared when Steve passed away Apple would lose its focus and disappear. Unfortunately I listened to him. Glad Tim didn’t. 🙂

Apple CEO Tim Cook is stepping down as Apple's chief executive officer, and hardware engineering chief John Ternus is set to take over, Apple announced today.

Cook will continue on as Apple CEO through the summer, with Ternus set to join Apple's Board of Directors and take over as CEO on September 1, 2026. Cook is going to transition to chairman of the board at Apple, and he will "assist with certain aspects of the company, including engaging with policymakers around the world."

In a statement, Cook said that his time as Apple's CEO has been the "greatest privilege" of his life.

Ternus said that he is optimistic about what Apple can achieve in the years to come.

Apple says that the transition was approved by the Board of Directors and is the result of a "thoughtful, long-term succession planning process." The current board chair, Arthur Levinson, will become the lead independent director on the board.
