The original commenter is right. No human is worth even 1/50 that aside from Albert Einstein or Issac Newton, etc. Tim Cook is worth maybe $800,000 per year and that’s multiples and multiples over what most humans make.

I didn't say the original commenter was wrong. I was just explaining how it is. Right or wrong, this is how executive compensation is determined.

I'm curious! How much a lunch is worth with Mr. Tim Cook in 2023?

Well this is probably a good indicator that that 1st quarter results / outlook for 2023 - is probably not so rosy.

Hard to tell if this is Cook admitting he didn’t do a great job last year, setting the example for belt tightening to come, or both.

Edit: Love it when people just hit disagree and give no reason why.
Its acknowledgement of the meh Apple has produced under him recently, and what's appropriate given the overall state of the global economy. He's hasn't earned any rewards.

He had a contract… board signed off on it. Based on it he helped make a lot of money for a lot of people. Given the optics and the economy (now and predictions) he is cool with reworking compensation to what feels more appropriate (for his position and the moment). This is consistent with Mr. Cook’s character and leadership. It’s petty to snark. How much relative to profitability did some other tech leaders make last year? Did they take a cut?

“It’s petty to snark.”

Sadly that’s the way it is here every day. Always a race to the bottom with inane juvenile remarks.

I hope he will be ok. We all need to sacrifice during these challenging times.

But seriously given Apples profitability he is underpaid. Way underpaid.

Spot on. And that profitability is due to Apple giving its customers what they want - outstanding products. 400,000+ iPhones every day of the year (on the average), for example.

How about a lottery of sharing 100Million among 1000 employees once every 3 years?.

It is insane the salary/income difference. At least a lottery would be super appreciated. Of course salary raises would be better, but capitalism prohibits the “low level” employees to have a share of the real profits of the company….

Which you feel compelled to comment on every time a Time Cook post is made.

Why not take your own advice and just ignore it?
