Why is nobody asking him questions like why is Apple so cheap by still selling 16 Gig iPhones? Or how bout them new Macs? :(

Probably because Apple insists to see beforehand the list of questions so they can approve or not what he gets asked.

The Apple Watch is a dud that has generated zero excitement because, quite simply, THERE IS NO USE FOR IT.

It's a dud to you. I'll be honest and say I was initially sceptical, but once I bought one and started using it - I wouldn't want to be without it now.

I wear my Apple Watch every single day and it has changed my life. I've lost over 70lbs from the fitness tracking capabilities of the device alone. It motivates me to go outside and be active more than anything else has done in a long time. I also use it for setting timers, glancing at messages, paying for stuff when out shopping, tracking my sleep, following directions, tracking workouts, setting and tracking reminders, weather and temperatures, urgent emails, and of course telling the time.

The Apple Watch forum is filled with comments from people who love their watches. It's a great product and will only get better with advancements in technology.

Well look at it this way. Apple can't coast anymore, they have to innovate or lose their spot. That leads to great and bold products... I hope.

I hope he doesnt count on removing the headphone port as innovative, if the rumours are true.

They did remove the VGA ports as one of the first, Optical unit, standard sized usb ports, firewire, IR was never present when alot phones had it, lan ports,...

It isnt the point that you cram everything everyone uses onto one device and make it clunkier, but you need to keep the option to connect these things for people that do. Im an audio guy, i love jack sockets, but lets face it, its ancient. Its been around for decades. And once you embrace wireless, i dont know why would you want to go back.

Also, this thread is just ********ing. Most of people here are egocentric and just yack about what kind of iphone they want...

I dont know what people expect.

The MacBook Air, the iPhone, the iPad and the iPod were products that effectively either revolutionized the tech industry or brought about significant evolutions in the device category. All these products put the whole rest of the industry under pressure to copy and innovate on their own.

But this generation of entitled consumers is just so used to seeing new stuff every other year that they get bored when Apple does not deliver something "awesome, amazing, revolutionary" twice a year.

The new iPhone has about the same exterior design as the old one. "OMG Apple is a fraud, they dont innovate, the company is doooomed!!!"

Consumers are more and more becoming entitled *******s imo. Why not learn to properly use the tech you own at the moment and sit back and relax and give Apple and the industry time to innovate at their own pace. New stuff will certainly come. Dont let yourself be controlled by the dopamine rush you get at buying new things.

The Apple Watch is a dud that has generated zero excitement because, quite simply, THERE IS NO USE FOR IT. With larger smart phones on the market, including their own, Apple is having a hard enough time justifying the existence of their iPad, the last thing they should have done is attempt to invent a fourth category. I wish they would let the Apple Watch die and instead focus on their core lineup - iPhone, iPad, Mac. Right now they have their fingers in too many Apple pies and they are falling behind in everything.

Just a little advice for you my short sighted friend: be on the right side of history. Don't proclaim to know whether a product is a hit or not when it's barely been on the market for a year cause more than likely, in the future when wearables are a normal part of everyday life, someone will link to your post just like how they link to old posts criticizing the first iPhone saying it's gonna fail without a hardware keyboard

For me it crosses a line, especially with their proprietary connector which means that wired ios headphones can only be used with ios devices and were talking about something thats suppose to be more portable than a laptop/desktop.

Note that most of the things they added were available on other devices e.g. Usb.

Yes theres wireless but all the wireless headphones i tried werent as nice as my wired ones and i regularly use £10-20 earphones which would probably increase in price and/or require a relatively expensive, bulk adding, adapter.

Even someone i know who is a bit of a zealot for these kinds of things was impressed by my wired headphones.

As i said, i just hope they dont call it innovative, unless maybe they do something to truly justify it.

Apple CEO Tim Cook today sat down with CNBC Mad Money host Jim Cramer, where he discussed his thoughts on innovation, the future of the iPhone and the Apple Watch, the growth of Apple services, Apple's performance in China, and more.

Last week, Apple reported its first year-over-year revenue decline since 2003, announcing $10.5 billion in profit on $50.6 billion in revenue. Apple also saw its first ever decline in year-over-year iPhone sales, leading one Wall Street analyst to claim Apple's best days are behind it.

"I couldn't disagree more," said Cook when asked about the comment, attributing the perceived sales dip to an abnormally high upgrade rate in late 2014 and 2015 as people upgraded to the iPhone 6 and pointing towards growth opportunities in China and India. Cook went on to tease future advances in iPhone technology that will inspire people to buy new devices. He reiterated Apple's future plans later in the interview when questioned on whether Apple is still innovating. "We're fairly secretive," he said, "but I would tell you we're incredibly excited about things we're working on."

Cook also commented on Apple acquisitions. "We've acquired a lot of companies. We generally acquire a company every three to four weeks on average," he said. "We're always looking," he added on the topic of potential major acquisitions.

On the Apple Watch, Cook didn't give many hints about what's coming in the future, but he said he believes it will be seen differently in retrospect, much like the iPod. "You'll see the Apple Watch getting better and better," he told Cramer. "We're still in learning mode."

Cook also addressed concerns about China, which led billionaire Carl Icahn to sell his full stake in Apple earlier this year. Apple's sales fell 26 percent in Greater China in the second quarter of 2016, and recently, Apple was forced to take down the iTunes Movies and iBooks stores in China on concerns from Chinese officials that believe Apple is "too deeply established" in core industries in the country.

"I could not be more optimistic about China," he said. According to Cook, the Android-to-iPhone switch rate has been "huge" in China, up 40 percent in the first half of 2016 compared to the first half of 2015. He says Apple is working with Chinese regulatory authorities to get its iTunes Movies and iBooks services back online in the country. "We're pretty confident and optimistic that we'll be back online and offering those to our Chinese customers soon."

Cook also spoke at length on the dip in Apple stock, the company's quarterly performance and predictions for next quarter, smartphone penetration in China and India, and Apple's customer loyalty and potential for growth in services.

Cook's segment aired on Mad Money on CNBC at 6:00 p.m. Eastern Time. Part one and part two of the full episode are now available on the CNBC website and are embedded above.

How can an adult with a reasonable education actually say these platitudes with any degree of sincerity ?
Cook, Ive and Apple are destined for the approbation they so thoroughly deserve.

Apple could innovate and push the market forward, they certainly have the resources and skills. But why do that when they can continue to make Billions of dollars a month producing the same old stuff. They are/were riding the crest of a monitary wave.

Maybe this tumbling of share prices will be the kick they need to start pushing the envelope again. It'll be a few years before we see that materialise though.

I'll believe it when I see it. I swear he says the same thing every year.

Do Touch ID, the new Apple TV, Apple Pay, and the company's first wearable computer not count as innovation?

Who am I kidding, on this website - of course not!
[doublepost=1462263109][/doublepost]
Watch Bands and pink laptops are not really the kind on innovation I think I'm looking for...

**** off then

Spot on.

This is why it's so frustrating reading comments like 'the iPhone 7 will have practically the same design? This proves Apple can't innovate!!'

At this point, I think its best if we just lower our expectations, don't get ahead of ourselves by building up the future and just be glad to be genuinely surprised when something amazing presents if it does.

Except for the many people who use theirs every day, such as myself.

Intel want to get rid of support for the 3.5mm jack in their chips. It'll be a bold step as there's plenty of headphones that support 3.5mm and there's a lot of cheap stuff to buy. But look at the transition from the 30 pin connector to lightning port? As long as you offer an adapter or something in the transition, people don't care.

With the invention and efficiency of bluetooth headphones for lower quality usage, why do we need cabled headphones now? When Apple owns Beats, it doesn't make sense. And Apple doesn't want to be the 2nd/3rd company to ditch the 3.5mm port.

£600 for something that does not last a day in battery power is a dud!Pebble watch and IPhone for me.
Ports omitting from Computers makes me seriously think of NOT RENEWING my MacBook Pro_Only to boost sale of ICloud services.
iPad Pro and Pencil total dud.Pencil less integrated in programs than Windows 95 and computers.Total dud.
Never regretted a purchase more than the Pencil.Samsung made a better job of integrated all their software with a their Pencil type device. Why is maps not using it?Why is notepad not using it for drawing. Why are there drawing facilities in notepad for iPhone but not iPad Pro.Why can I not use the pencil for handwriting in the core IPad Pro apps ?
Totally botched implementation.Sorry but is my opinion and only if you can tell me how this is going to change will Inchange my mind and not by some polemic comment you make instead of giving me any facts.

And once you embrace wireless, i dont know why would you want to go back.

We've had Wireless Ethernet in the home and office for years, but STILL many prefer a real Ethernet Cable.
It just works, no messing around, no issues of connection drops, full speed etc etc.

By all means remove something old if the new one is better.
as in USB 1, 2, 3 etc etc.

You're looking at short-horizon "investors". On the other hand, the stock has underperformed based on its numbers. That's usually from a lack of confidence. Say what you want, but the short term situation appears, outwardly, much slower than any time in the last 10 years. People want innovation so more investors are willing to "bet on Apple" again. Right now, it's just a profit machine like a Utility. It's shocking, but it's also what MSFT went through 5 years ago.

If Apple's iPhone sales were slowing because everyone was buying a competitors product, you'd be right. "Profits don't matter, Apple are fading into irrelevance like Microsoft did." This is not what's happening. This is "We love the products you've sold us Apple, but previously you've wowed us, and we want that to happen again."

Most abused sentence from Tim: "we're incredibly excited about things we're working on"

It is pretty much the equivalent of Jobs's "Magic" or "Boom"

In regards to the 30 pin transition, chances are most adapters were used for e.g. docks, etc. where the added bulk isn't as much of an issue, not something that goes in your pocket.

Unless they can figure out how to fold it in half then I'm pretty happy with the design.

If I had a choice I'd prefer it be significantly thicker!
Give me bigger/better battery life, a better zoom lens, a better flash and iPad Pro speakers in the extra space and I'd be ecstatic!
Which I know I'm never going to see...

Gary
My iphone 6plus lasts 1.5 days and its a big problem. Now i always forget to charge.
It was better when i charges iphone daily

The pipeline thing has been peddled by Cook since he became CEO.

Apple really needs to back up this latest claim in the next year or so.

i still like Apple for it's "This is what you should have"

We are grown up now Tim thanks.

I'm all for products, but listening to users is important, not the other way round.

I'm still all Apple, but sometimes i don't like Tim's decisions. There will always be things u can do a certain way to please some and tick off others, and it seems that the 'ticking off' is more suited to Apple.
