Tim should shut up. Trump did the right thing
The optics of the Paris Accord is rather important too though, even if the full "exit" won't happen for years. A great deal of the impetus for the US' role in this was to take a leadership role, and try to nudge other countries (especially the developing ones) to adopt decent policies. Domestically, the administration's actions (including this) all but dampen the growth of the clean energy industry for no good reason. I see where you're going with this, but I have a difficult time not viewing this as setting back innovation/growth for years.Good news is it takes a long time to get out of it, and the final step is after the next election.
Do you think FEMA operates via magic? Also, any complaints about dollar figures can pretty much be rebutted by - WALL.trump is right. we don't know who is actually getting $400 billion dollars. thats too much money. its time to stop American citizens from paying for everything
This is false. One, it's not a treaty ratified by congress. Two, we are a sovereign nation and other countries can't force us to do anything.Good news is it takes a long time to get out of the Paris Climate Agreement, and the final step is after the next election.
Countries can't withdraw until three years after the Paris Agreement went into effect.
The Paris Agreement entered into force on November 4, 2016; so this means the US would have to stay with it until November 2019. After that, the rules mandate a one-year notice period, which would mean a withdrawal in late 2020; after the next presidential election on November 3, 2020.
Today, the Paris Climate Agreement is polling at over 70% in favor with voters (indicating Republicans are split on it, with Democrats and Independents strongly in favor), and well over 50% in favor among the whole US population. This will be a campaign issue in 2020, and Trump has set himself and his party up to be on the wrong side of it.
How is the fact the earth is always changing in a predictable cycle the same as earth is rapidly changing in a non natural way.So everyone is upset over this, what difference will pulling out actually make on the environment ? The planet has been changing climates for 1000's of years, some of you people act like your mere existence means everything should stop changing now.
Great move by Trump. Now lets go after those epa nazis and their ridiculous demands for our automakers.

Pretty stupid and the price is billions going to other countriesArticle VI of the US Constitution says otherwise: "This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land;"
Apple CEO Tim Cook this afternoon sent an email to Apple employees expressing his disappointment with U.S. President Donald Trump's decision to pull out of the Paris climate deal.![]()
In the email, which was shared by BuzzFeed, Cook says that while he tried to persuade Trump to keep the United States in the agreement, "it wasn't enough." Cook goes on to reiterate Apple's commitment to reducing its environmental impact through renewable energy and an eventual closed-loop supply chain.Cook, who also shared his disappointment in a tweet, was one of many tech leaders who attempted to persuade Trump not to pull the U.S. out of the Paris climate agreement earlier this week, but on Thursday, the president announced that the United States will indeed withdraw from the accord. Since the announcement, tech company CEOs have been speaking out against the decision while pledging to continue to fight climate change.
Facebook CEO Mark Zuckerberg said leaving the accord "puts our children's future at risk," while Google CEO Sundar Pichai said he was disappointed with the decision. Tesla CEO Elon Musk, who said yesterday he had done all he could to advise the president to remain in the accord, made good on a promise to leave the advisory councils he served on.
Disney CEO Bob Iger also announced that he's resigned from the President's Council following the decision, while Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff said the company would double its efforts to fight climate change. Many other major companies, including IBM, GE, Microsoft, and Intel have also spoken out against the move.

Congress didn't vote on it. Only Obama did. Ergo it is not a treaty. That's why it's called Paris Climate Accord and not Paris Climate Treaty.Article VI of the US Constitution says otherwise: "This Constitution, and the laws of the United States which shall be made in pursuance thereof; and all treaties made, or which shall be made, under the authority of the United States, shall be the supreme law of the land;"
No. I'm referring to the money the U.S has to payYou're referring to what will happen if we withdraw? I agree.
Now we're with Syria as being the only country opposed to this treaty. Great company to keep.
And China will now be the leader in the world addressing climate change, and point to this as evidence that the US is no longer in charge and is in decline.
Yessiree Bob.Thank you President Trump. This was the best thing that the people of our country could have asked for. The ones opposed to it obviously have a liberal education and are clueless. Keep up the great work!!!
