Anyone else tired of being told Apple's products are the best in the world?

That is not a self appointed title. It's something others say about your product when it's true. Running around saying "we're the best" is egotistical, if not downright arrogant.

Also, "waiting for chip suppliers" is a really stupid excuse for not shipping more systems. Near as I can tell, they're not actually waiting for some mythical hardware to drop, so much as they've been kneecapped by Ive's thin designs that cannot accommodate the TDP of currently available silicon. If they weren't so obsessed with form over function, we'd be seeing plenty of new systems released on a yearly basis.

Lets see what might be in the works for the iMac:

- DDR4 with support for up to 64 GBs of RAM
- USB C only
- SSD only
- Thinner design
- No more chin
- Kaby Lake processors
- macOS Sierra 10.12.4
- emoji's

Let's see what actually ships for the iMac:

- USB C only
- Kaby Lake processors
- macOS Sierra 10.12.4
- giant emoji's (5K 27 inch model only)

Poor Tim has run out of Steve's ideas.

True. For too many people here, all they know how to do is complain. It's sad.

If you're unhappy with the products, don't buy them. D'uh.
See, the thing is, we WANT to buy new Macs.
I want to buy a new Macbook Pro Retina, but I want function keys, 32GB RAM, and an SSD that isn't soldered on.
Most in this thread want either :
1) A Mac Mini that has a quad core processor and memory that isn't soldered on.
2) A iMac that isn't so thin that it throttles the processor. Really close to no one would decide to take form over the lack of thermal throttling. Also, most think that NVidia would provide a better GPU.
3) Or a Mac Pro that was recently updated, has graphics options, and up-gradable hardware. Until the cylinder form factor, the Mac pro was the member of the lineup that had lots of options, and could be molded to better fit changing workflows over the lifetime of the device.

But lately, consumers have none of that, but they still like their OSX workflows. They are ready to buy, but there is nothing matching what the WANT to buy.

Personally, again, my main complaint is with the Macbook Pro Retina. Hackintoshes more sense to me than waiting for Apple to release something that they appear to have moved away from.

I haven't been very happy with Apple products this year- I bought a 27 inch iMac in February and while the monitor is nice the computers performance is mediocre for what it cost, especially the graphics and hard drive.

BUT

Let's see what actually is released before bad mouthing anything. I just got a new HP laptop at work and I can't say I'm impressed with it either. Seems that processors haven't been anything special for the last 2 years for anyone's computers, and OS and software requirements eat up all of any improvements that they might have. And the HP comes chock full of ads and bloatware.

i will seize to stutter before the mac pro is updated. i spent more on therapy then 3 fully loaded mac pros and its done nothing.

Since that's clearly not going to happen, why not just move on with your life and buy a Dell/Sanyo/Lenovo/whatever and find some happiness?

If Ford was not going to make cars that meet my needs, next time I needed a car I'd get another brand. Whining about Ford would not be a solution.
