A finger print sensor is not impressive. Maybe the tech improved but HP ipaqs had this back in 2003

Umm.. yes, tech has advanced in ten years. Lol, if you think it will bear ANY resemblance to decade old producs... I feel that you have a decent chance of being QUITE surprised & impressed.

My understanding is that Oppenheimer doesn't want to talk about the financial impacts of the new products that are coming in the Fall, but he'll be able to talk about them during the next ER call in Oct. So by that time, the majority of the new products should have been released or announced.

If the Haswell rMBP is coming around the same time as new iPad and iPhone, then my iPhone 5 will have to last another year. I can't afford to upgrade to all three at the same time.

How long does apple think there going to string people along?

Thanks to Steve Jobs programming of the faithful followers, Apples demonstrating that they know exactly what they can get away with.

The master of power, control & influence Apple has, and always will continue to do it their way. Even long after they've lost the top spot.

He said they will have a very busy fall. What could lead to a busy fall? Obviously the reason that you have a busy fall is because new/updated products come out. Unless he knows about some recovery in the economy that is coming. So, yes he will give more detail in the financial call in October about all the revenue from new products between now and then.

*sigh* I'm perfectly aware of what he said. My comment is relating to the article stating "During the question and answer portion of Apple's third quarter earnings call, Apple CFO Peter Oppenheimer suggested that Apple will have a "very busy fall," following it up with a statement that he'd like to "leave it there and go into more detail in October."

This is insinuating that there could be an October launch, which isn't unlikely…
However, the point of my post was to suggest that Oppenheimer's statement merely relates to the next Financial Call rather than a specific announcement.

Here suggests October 21st for the next call.

That's why it makes no sense to have all these new and upgraded products released in the fall. If Apple kept the new products coming at regular intervals one would think sales would be better as people could spread out their spending. Of course I keep telling myself that when it come to the Mac, Intel has to take some of the blame.

Yup! If they left iPad in March, MBP in summer, and iPhone in Autumn, I would be able to afford all on release day.

I'll be getting the 5S for sure. Am hoping for a retina mini. Would love to replace my iPad 2 and use that for in-car entertainment for the kids.

iWatch may not be a watch...

iWatch may not be a watch, it could be the name of the TV since iTV is already taken. why would apple sell watches? seems silly and low priced compared to selling a big ticket item like a TV.

People need to relax and read more carefully. We usually only hear from Oppenheimer during earrings calls, the next one which is scheduled for October.

Yes, that's it!! The next big thing is smart earrings.

Too bad for the uptight str8 dudes without piercings, but great for the rest of us.

Forget earbuds, the iEarrings will directly send data to your auditory nerves.

Apple stock will climb to $420, I'm sure.

The Mac Pro doesn't have USB 3.0 or T-Bolt - two things that Apple could have easily and cheaply added.

The other computer companies update to new tech when it's available -- they don't wait for a tick or tock from Intel.

"Cool products are coming!" Seems like I've heard that before a few times. I liked it when it used to be "Oh, one more thing".

Lol, obviously. Apple has barely released anything the last 9 months. This cramming stuff in the fall plan is kinda dumb but what do i know right? ;)

It should make for a spectacular holiday quarter and one the analysts will have a difficult time predicting... may be a good time to pick up stock! :)

Little does everyone know that he was talking about ios 7 and all of the problems that its going to have!!!! Just kidding.

no retina macbook pro till october? quit dragging your asses.. fŪçk you apple.

Maybe, but if it's 100% perfect its quite convenient, much more secure than a 4 code PW, and, well, no other phone has it. I wish my phone had it so I wouldn't have to keep tapping my code in.

I'm beginning to doubt Apples sincerity.

Profit taking has taken over as they've continued to rake in the big bucks thanks to the ongoing sales of old tech like the iPhone 4.

As far as the bragging about an "Army of new products" ?

I'll believe it when I see it.

Um. What? You do realize that net profit was down year over year, right? Also, your theory that they are seeing what they can "get away with" is downright silly. Contrary to whatever impression you may have been given, Tim Cook and company do not sit at their desks all day coming up with ways to screw you.

Not sure if serious?!

There's obviously a reason. Apple and companies like it have a whole army of people who crunch numbers all day long. Just because the logic isn't immediately obvious to you and me doesn't mean it doesn't exist.
