It is also a bit of a problem for Apple that what they are being accused of is a legit accusation. It's a bit of a problem for Apple that the EU is the prosecutor, judge and jury in this case

No.. but they are going to get a €561 million fine. https://www.ft.com/content/ce8a6602-dece-4313-b1a5-4e6f3354f99d
And they have had multiple fines in the past (Internet Explorer, Mediaplayer, Office, etc)

I tend to think so as well. Spotify is European and big, bad Apple (despite its tremendous EU footprint) is not. It's a bit of a problem for Apple that the EU is the prosecutor, judge and jury in this case
The EU will be the undoing of Apple.
Apple is such a child. Apple should just build their own decent music app. Oh wait,..nope nothing to see.Spotify is such a child. Spotify should just build their own phone.
No we just think (and rightfully so) that Spotify (and also Epic) are in the wrong. The bias is so clear every time.
Apple can do no wrong in the minds of some people.
hmmm... so while in supermarket A, should we get to compare alternative deals of other supermarkets while there?
Deals have always existed outside a particular marketplace. Why apply this thinking only here?
don't have to imagine. microsoft is literally doing it with the xbox console. lol has your head, as you say, exploded yet?Imagine if Microsoft did what Apple has done re: steering. Heads would be exploding here and rightfully so. But Apple gets a free pass from many here.
Apple has been hit with antitrust accusations in the USA also. Maybe it is because Apple is doing things they shouldn't, and not due to "hate"Not really. The EU will eventually be the undoing of the EU. They despise American tech companies but had zero complaints about the behaviors of Nokia and Ericsson, nor others like Nestle and Phillips.

Doing what with the xbox console?don't have to imagine. microsoft is literally doing it with the xbox console. lol
Apple is in a position where only apple can undo apple. The EU will be the undoing of Apple.
Weren't they found guilty of this exact same thing in the US too?I tend to think so as well. Spotify is European and big, bad Apple (despite its tremendous EU footprint) is not.
And then they flipped off the judge basically by trying to be cute and get around her ruling. She is not happy about it.Weren't they found guilty of this exact same thing in the US too?
You should know there are ways around those. But okay: https://www.politico.eu/article/european-commission-microsoft-teams-antitrust-probe-video-call/
what? this argument makes no sense to me.Apple is such a child. Apple should just build their own decent music app. Oh wait,..nope nothing to see.
Apple is back to thinking it's IBM in 1984. How many lawsuits in the past 10 years under Cook? This, the same company that promotes itself as an environmental warrior on one hand, whilst burying Millions of it's plastic technojunk airpods that can't even have their batterys replaced. Boo hoo Apple.
anti-steeringDoing what with the xbox console?
Some might even say they have "courage". 😆Very brave of Apple, the evidence was quite clear and they will have a huge uphill struggle to try and prove otherwise. They deserved to be fined IMO due to outright banning ANY mention of alternative payment methods from its App Store policies.
Only cause they are going after the infallible Apple. No we just think (and rightfully so) that Spotify (and also Epic) are in the wrong.
FYI: Spotify was an early adopter of the App Store (launched their app on iOS in 2008) and their chosen method for attracting customers was to have them sign up for the free ad supported version in the app and go onto the internet to sign up for a paid subscription. So there was no "cheaper" version of Spotify available to consumers online originally. And Spotify wasn't providing consumers with a choice for how to pay. They had to go online to pay. And anyone who signed up for the free version was providing Spotify with contact information that could be used to communicate about the paid subscription on their web site.It seems American do not really understand the idea of consumer protection. Each time a company uses its market power to make if more difficult for the consumers to make their own choices, consumer protection steps in and that is great.
Nah. Apple will just eventually grow a pair and tell them to eat dirt and leave. The EU will be the undoing of Apple.
How many years have you guys been saying this? When is it actually going to happen? 2025? 2030? 2050? Have at least some specifics.Nah. Apple will just eventually grow a pair and tell them to eat dirt and leave.
