Carriers already do that; no need for Apple to get in the business...that said, no one needs to be upgrading yearly.
I always hand-down my phones or sell locally when upgrading. These trade-in deals suck!
The day my iPhone aren't valued more, I won't sell it anyway.I already made a $ 5,- offer but unfortunate no reply yet 😜
Reading the article, "Some values increased, while others decreased" What information is being withheld??You should use the word "lowers", not "changes". No reason to withhold information like that!
A friend of mine did exactly this. They turned in his wife’s iPhone 4S that was sitting in a drawer for $1000 off a 16 Pro. I traded in a XR for my 13 Pro at Verizon for $800 off my 13 Pro a few years ago.Other phone vendors like "here is 1k off for a 5 year old phone sitting in your drawer (exaggerating)"
Only two articles rose a bit. The rest where all lowered. So, yes he’s right by saying that 😊Reading the article, "Some values increased, while others decreased" What information is being withheld??
I agree, unless they offer a new mini model. Mine will probably age like fine wine.Apple won't get my iPhone 13 mini for the trade-in that they possibly could offer.

We can always use old iOS devices as media-player's, or something similar.
My iPad mini 5 is more or less just a meditation timer etc. today.
But that is enough valuable for me to keep it as, and loose whatever few 💰💶 I could get for it.
I will keep my iPhone mini too the day it won't serve as a phone anymore.
This is sort of a silly take. You're not wrong, but "Apple low-balls you" isn't it. Selling anything direct to another person generally gets you close to market value; selling to a company that is only buying so they can turn it around for a profit always gets you much less than market value. It doesn't matter if it's Apple computer or a Ford truck or a Cal Ripken Topps baseball card. They do, but Apple low-balls you. Don't trade in to Apple.
Less than 50% on a one-year-old phone is absolutely pathetic. Tim must be proud.
You should use the word "lowers", not "changes". No reason to withhold information like that!
Three, not two, in a list of 13 examples. It is inaccurate to say they lowered trade-in values when they did, indeed, change them in both directions.Only two articles rose a bit. The rest where all lowered. So, yes he’s right by saying that 😊

You have a different definition of the words change and lowered, got it.Only two articles rose a bit. The rest where all lowered. So, yes he’s right by saying that 😊
Would rather trade in to apple than get scammed by a buyer on ebay, after 15% selling fee and $20 shipping.
Yeah but hassle and eBay fees and hassle…The gap between Apple’s trade-in values and eBay prices for the same items used to be small enough that I’d just take the lower Apple trade-in price to save myself the hassle of selling on eBay.
That gap is getting bigger. I’m inclined now to upgrade less often and to sell my Apple gear on eBay or similar.
I have an Original iPhone 1 plus a first and second-generation iPad, so I hope it's a lot. What's the price for my iPhone 1? Surely that has some value!
