The degree to which everyone is parsing every detail is hilarious. Don't get me wrong I REALLY want my phone first thing Friday morning. I feel like a kid waiting for Christmas but getting maybe on Monday vs Friday or even a week later is not that big of a deal, right?

Tell me that after you get an email saying your shipment has been delayed and your new delivery date is 11/10. Lol

I'll be disappointed but if I have pick it up Monday, oh well, I'll get over it

It looks beautiful, but I did notice one thing suspicious. I read or saw something somewhere that the lock button was repurposed as the button for Siri/Apple pay. On this video he actually locks the screen with the side button. Anyone have any insight? That's what has me thinking the phone in the video is a knockoff.

(Me personally, I hope that lock button has an option to turn of Siri/Apple Pay to utilize the side button as the original lock button because I use that hundreds of times a day and rarely use Siri/Apple Pay.)

Side note: I finally got the shipment notification from Apple my padfolio berry case shipped. Ordered immediately after I pre-ordered the iPhone X.
I believe the side button has many roles to play. Hold down, double press, and press.

Do you remember that episode of South Park when Cartman is waiting for the Nintendo Wii to come out? He’s pacing in front of the store, back and forth...back and forth and it’s still about a month out? So instead of just waiting, he freezes himself to make the time go by faster? That’s basically us right now.

In the grand scheme of things, no it doesn’t matter if we receive it Friday or 2 weeks from Friday, but for right now, as we’re living it, we’re so excited that another hour of waiting seems like an eternity.

be right back, going to freeze myself for 4 days. Send help if I don’t respond by Friday morning.

I’ve had it held at UPS hub before with no issues. As long as it’s the main hub. The small pack & ship stores could get the delivery at the end of day I suppose.

holding at a UPS store requires an extra shipment to the store, delaying it usually a day. Holding at a CC or hub just stops it at a location it is already passing through
Or that ;) ^

Just got my Spigen thin fit case. Feels great in the hand can’t to put the X in it Friday!

Here in the 11/17-24 group looking at all this movement for launch day, little disappointing the store issues caused this. I stayed up and all. :( I cursed Tim when the store didn’t open on time on the app lol.

Angela Ahrendts is in charge of that not Tim Cook

I spoke with a friend tonight that works at UPS. She said she work verify in the morning, which by then we may already know the answer, but she thought the route was CGO - HKG - ANC - SDF

Does anyone recall last year when the people in the next batch after launch started seeing any kind of movement? Last year I was in the Oct. 4-11 group but got my phone on 9/24. As I recall, we started seeing movement (cc charges, moving to Preparing for Shipment, etc.) the weekend after launch. But wasn’t there a group between us (Oct. 4 - 11) and launch day folks? If so, when did they start seeing progress? It appears that my group (Nov. 17 - 24) this year is next after launch group so based on last year, when do you think we’ll start seeing any kind of movement?

Same 2-3 week estimate as last year, received a week (9-24) after launch. Would’ve been 9-23 but it wanted to see the world before coming to California

Apparently UPS drivers hit the Customer Centers first and stores later in the day. Some times last stops so it might delay your pick up

AFAIK, the UPS customer centers are all at the local hub, so there is no "stop" per se as the package is already there.

The UPS stores around here get the shipments the same day as the local hub. For the driver, it's just another delivery along with all the other deliveries during the day. In fact, my closest UPS store said they get their packages for pickup first thing in the A.M. This differs from location to location.

Summary - For absolute certainty for pickup this Friday, get the package held at a customer center. This eliminates a package transfer to another truck and any issues with local drivers having difficulties, delays, or delivering to the wrong address.
