I would have, absolutely, without a doubt, ordered from Apple if they hadn't screwed everything up! I never would have chosen to order through AT&T if it wasn't my last resort. They are unbelievably unreliable and always have been.
I first showed up at the AT&T store after realizing apple.com was down and there was maybe three other people in there reserving the new iPhone. The sales associate STILL insisted that I wouldn't get my phone until the 25th or 26th. Me being naive, or just assuming that common sense would prevail, I left the AT&T store and called the Apple store. They said their computers were down too, as they supposedly use the same system the site does and to just keep trying.
I tried and tried until I went on this site and saw that people were getting there preorders through AT&T with success. I was very reluctant, but eventually fell into the peer pressure and ordered through them and its been a headache ever since. At this point i'll probably get my phone on the 28th, after I read all the happy stories from those who ordered off apple.com or showed up at the store at around 2 pm with a reservation. (I have a reservation too, but without canceling my att order, i'm scr*wed. Thanks
