UPS pilots have begun requesting departure slots from Louisville ATC. It'll be just a trickle at first, becoming a flood over the next hour.

Your phones in Louisville may or may not be on these flights. UPS still has 3 shipment cycles after this one to get your phone to your hub for an on time delivery.
You're taking flight tracking to a whole new level.

Yeah, nobody who ordered from apple has gotten email notifications yet.

Not uncommon. No need to worry. The thing to remember is if Apple says you will have it on the 25th, then you will, regardless of where it is at and when it ships.

That was my suspicion. I've always done the line-thing for our phones. This year is a little different in that I pre-ordered her phone (still doing the line for mine) so I'm not yet privy to these nuances. :)

Well, that would be the first one we've heard of, so congratulations!

Thanks.

Mine hasn't even been picked up for delivery.. Arg! Shipping label was created 9/21/15.. At around midnight it seems because I got an email on the 20th from t-mobile

Arrived in Louisville at 12:15 as well. I'm sure everyone's tracking is going to start looking different at this point. I don't expect movement until around 4 AM tomorrow morning since that's the only flight to Albany, GA from Louisville and that's the closest location to where I am in North Florida. I doubt it goest to Miami/Ft. Lauderdale and then back up but you never know.

Even if it doesn't make it until Friday I expect the movemement to be at 4 AM still because the 4 AM flight Friday morning would not have enough time to sort and get here for delivery by the time the trucks load in the morning.

I am in Transit! Both phones hust changed from AI in Mt Juliet, TN waiting for UPS to UPS Facility in Nashville, TN. First time it's moved since I found my tracking info using my phone number in UPS My Choice.

I'm still at the "Preparing for Shipment" stage. When I check the tracking number it says my phone is coming from AI in Mt. Juliet, TN. I think it's already at an Apple hub and will head out on the truck tomorrow to my city for delivery on the 25th.

Not at all. Some of us did this two years ago as well. I don't remember UPS having this many flights back then though. Substantial increase. Someone should use this as an economic indicator. The UPTOFL (UPS Planes Taking Off From Louisville).

They did. FlightAware's iPhone tracker was up and running last year and the year before, and LiveATC has had a feed for KSDF, KONT, and PANC for at least the past 7 years, if not longer. Both sites generally get hammered around the time of iPhone releases.

I'm currently listening to the PANC feed, and it's pretty lively.

BL.

From my previous experience (iPhone 5, 5S, 6 Plus and now 6S Plus), my iPhone will hang out in Louisville until sometime tomorrow. From there it will make a mad dash for LA and then to the local hub just north of where I live. I cannot even fathom the brainpower behind all this logistical maneuvering.

I used to listen to live atc when I couldn't sleep at night :D MY phone just started moving today and I'm still trying to figure out which flights it took.

For those of us whose phones are on their way to anchorage from Incheon, they take the same flight number (UPS 99) to Louisville. At least they did two years ago with my 5s.

My departure scan is at 1230am local time, later than the 1116pm flight departure time. I guess it's a delay in the UPS system. Still, good to see my phone is finally on its way.
