Really? I guess that's the main distribution center, huh? So that means it would either have to be already on one of these or departing tomorrow morning or so.
mine seemed to have missed those flights too and is in anchorage, could also be that its flying with a non regular ups flight just like all those that came from zhengzhou and went directly to anchorage, I live near Vancouver btw.

Shipping tips? Shipping tips?! Don't be simplistic. Look at the big picture. But go ahead - believe what you want to believe with your astounding knowledge of international shipping intricacies.

I actually have a background in logistics, so I'm very familiar. Companies hire companies like UPS to manage this stuff to make it simple. We know UPS gave the tracking numbers to Apple 6 days ago for me. It's Apple who is holding it back.... not UPS... has nothing to do with global logistics, it's simple customer service.

Yeah I get that.... but between the three (Apple, UPS, Customer), the customer should know when an expensive item they ordered ships. That doesn't seem too much to ask. It's fine if they don't want UPS to share it (tho based on this thread it seems if that's the contract, UPS broke it, LOL).

It always amazes me how forgiving people are when it comes to stuff Apple does. If Best Buy wouldn't provide a tracking number until 5 days after a product shipped, people would be LIVID.

I'm forgiving with Apple because my stuff always arrives when they say it will.

What exactly does having the tracking number do that improves anything about the process? With both shippers (even though we know it's UPS), you can set it to have any delivery you ever get be held at a certain place, or delivered in a certain way. It's not coming before the 25th, and if Apple told you it would be there the 25th, it will be there.

While everyone is fussing about Apple and Logistics mine and Aesc80's phones are lounging on the tarmac in Louisville sippin on martini's, throwin back some peanuts and chillin like villians waiting on our next plane out! LOL

Seattle? That seems...odd. Usually they go to CA, TN, or PA.

I was just assuming that since Seattle is so close ;) to Anchorage, that they'd save the cost and ship it here directly. Wonder why UPS doesn't have a hub in Anchorage.

Someone else pointed out that it's probably off to Louisville or CA or some other location. Unsure on which flight its off to now.

On top of that, it seems like pretty much everyone for whom a tracking number exists has been able to find their tracking number via either MyChoice or their billing phone number. If this guy really wanted to know his phone tracking, he could - well, either that or a device hasn't shipped to him yet, in which case he wouldn't have the number anyway.

Wish I could say the same. I ordered a case last week. It was mis-sorted... UPS didn't take action until I called and asked why there was a 3 day pause in tracking when it was supposed to be delivered 2 days before. They realized it must have been lost, and issued a trace. They ended up finding it and delivering it today, 3 days later than promised by Apple AND UPS... so to say the system "just works" 100% is absolutely inaccurate.

Furthermore, if you get the tracking info once the package is loaded on the truck, it's too late to hold it. Had an order from Apple where they sent the tracking number the night before on an overnight package, and by the time UPS opened at 7 am Eastern, they were unable to have it held because the truck was loaded at 3:15 am.

So yeah, I don't think my concern is unjust. Clearly others are anal about the tracking as well given this thread is 200 pages long after 10 days. Sheesh.

ANC is just a fuel stop. Almost all cargo carriers do it. It makes it a lot more cost effective to fly cargo Asia to US when they aren't paying fuel cost to carry all the fuel all the way.

And geography lesson for you... ANC is as close to SEA as LAX is to St Louis... may want to check out that map ;-)

You do realize you've doomed yourself to be the only person on earth not to get their phone on time right?

I have 4 coming, 2 of which are already in the local sort facility on hold. It's the other 2 I'm wondering about as they show up in my support profile, but not my ups.

Have you even looked for your tracking number? As in, gone into the UPS website and entered your billing phone number as your reference?

They do have a secondary hub in Ontario, CA, and often west coast packages go there. But if there's no room on that flight, off to Kentucky they go.

Yep, and that brings up 2 of my 4 ordered phones. Have you even looked at my post history? As in gone to my profile, clicked previous posts where I've stated no less than 10 times I have 4 phones coming and it only has tracking info for two.

A geography lesson for you - SEA is closer to ANC than it is to LAX or St. Louis or, for that matter, any other decent sized city in the lower 48. Which was the point, LOL.
