Same thing happened last year, too. I'd been one of the devoted flight trackers in previous years, and was kinda sad that mine was sitting in TN, IIRC, until the day or so before launch last time.
It's funny that the same thing happening year after year surprises people as if it's never happened before. Yep, apple ships new stuff right from China. No shock.
Checked my credit Card both phones have Pending charges since Friday. Still hasnt moved from "Processing" im not too worried as Apple has not let me down as yet. Also i am in NYC and i just missed the zip code for the Pope Visit..
My 6s+ showed up in the support profile this morning and I was able to get tracking information from UPS MyChoice.
I don't get it. You end half your posts with this phrase. Is it supposed to be funny? It's just weird.
Mine has had a pending charge since Thursday and is still processing! That's lucky your zip code isn't one of the ones affected by the Pope Visit.

64gb 6S+ in Rose Gold (ordered at 3:07am est) went preparing for shipment Friday afternoon.
Finally showed up in my support profile this morning! Tracked it in ups reference by using my phone number. It is currently in Hong Kong for the 9/25 delivery.

I haven't done it for an iPhone pickup, but normally you'll get an update on your tracking number stating its been dropped off at the UPS drop off point you selected and is waiting for pickup. You won't get a phone call, but you will get an email stating its been dropped off. There's no point in waiting for the place to open up unless your shipment actually gets there before the doors open.
I initially thought it would be easier to get it held over at the routing station, since mine has a CC, as well. That being said, I'm willing to bet it's going to be busy as F with wait abounds (not like an Apple Store, but still). Thankfully in my situation, UPS reaches my local drop off point at 10 A daily. Should be pretty easy quick on Friday. Best of luck!
100% pick it up at CC location. If you choose UPS store it will delay your phone by up to a day. At CC you can pick it up at 8am.

Check what time your UPS CC location allows for pickup first. Unfortunately mine doesn't allow pick ups until 4PM.
I FINALLY got my iPhone 6s+ 128 Rose Gold on my profile page and my phone is currently is in Chek Lap Kok via UPS
Well, sometimes they do and sometimes they don't. That was my point. Mine *originated* in the US last year. So while everyone else was showing origin scans in China and then tacking their progress to the US, mine was always in TN until the day before launch.
i found mine in the UPS system by reference number using my phone number

My pending charge has disappeared from my card since I posted this. I'm guessing it will reappear once my phone changes to PFS.
