Nice to see we are getting some reports or prepared for shipment status. Didn't expect that so early.

I have a friend that drives for FedEx, and she says that they hate iPhone launch day: they have to get at least an indirect signature, and LOTS of customers who aren't home don't leave a signature form on their door.

they can hate it all they want... but if I were not going to be home... there no way in hell I'd leave a release form for an iphone..... I can just imagine people following to fedex/ups trucks and then snatching the phones when they see them left on the porch.... fedex and ups' liabibility is gone at that point and your out a $1000 phone!

whiners can just do their jobs!

Wow...too bad you can't have them hold it at UPS/Fedex to pick it up. But I am pretty sure the contract with Apple says they have to make one delivery attempt first.

No, their contract absolutely does not say that. You may want to re-read this thread.

People stalking the UPS trucks on Apple launches is actually a thing here in the Seattle area.

That has not been my experience from past Apple pre orders. I have called UPS/Fedex and asked them to hold it at their sorting center so I can pick it up rather than wait around all day for the delivery. But each time they state the shipper has requested a delivery attempt be made first. They stated it was in their contract with the shipper (Apple).
As soon as I get a tracking number I will call whoever the delivery company is and ask it to be help so I can pick it up and report back.

Like I said, read the thread. You'll want to sign up for a MyChoice account.

Same here, though it never used to be (I'm in a pretty well-to-do suburb of Orlando). SO happy that I work from home and can watch for deliveries!

Mine 64GB Gold 6S Plus also went to preparing for shipment & credit card already charged for the full amount. Ordered on the german online apple store @ 9.40 am (40 minutes after pre ordering opened)
