Tracking should be fun - if it originates from overseas of if it's already stateside!

Base model. Going to be my travel machine. The idea is that I won't need M4 power while I'm away, and the weight would be the same in my bag anyway. This is $300 CAD cheaper than the cheapest open box condition M4 Air I could find, and I'd be a lot less pissed having this stolen or broken.

This could be an interesting, low cost MacOS travel solution for those that also travel with high powered iPads. iPad Pro, without a trackpad (just the case), along with this machine. Universal Control allows you to work with the keyboard and trackpad on the iPad.

Wow, preparing to ship already ???

Any idea if it's overseas or already stateside ?

Could not cancel the regular priced order that I placed an hour ago.

PSA:
once it goes to PTS - it's non cancellable.

This makes me wonder if the Macbook Neo are already stateside instead of overseas???

Will have to track the package as soon as Apple says it shipped.
I would say they must have them here already. I could have picked it up on the 11th at an Apple Store but the nearest one is 1 1/2 hours away.

Yay! Mine is preparing to ship as well. Silver 256GB (Lock Button model- LOL). The Citrus is an amazing color; but I have an iPad (A16) in the Yellow color which kind of reminds me of Citrus, even though I prefer the more Lemon-tinted Citrus color-- I just think I'd anticipate it drawing a lot of attention if I were to use it out and about. My gut feeling was Indigo because I have a 17 Pro in Deep Blue, but the more I saw the Indigo, the less I liked it, for some reason. I will say that I do have a MacBook Air M3 in Midnight, so my dark blue needs maybe are already satisfied by that machine. Haha! Anyway, went with classic Silver. I imagined it amongst my Apple desktop setup with a Mac mini and hopefully soon some Apple displays, and just imagined it fitting in better in almost every situation.

I can't wait! I was geared up to order a 17e but when I saw what a great deal this machine was, and how unique it is (before they are everywhere!), I randomly decided to grab a Neo instead. It's a sickness indeed!

I have my amateur radio license and I enjoy doing POTA activations - Parks On The Air. I have been using my iPad Air to log contacts but will start using the NEO once it arrives. Plus I won't get nearly as upset if something happens to The Neo compared to something happening to my iPad Air.

N6GTU (waiting for FCC renewal) here.

What is POTA ?

POTA - Parks On The Air is where you go setup portable in different state/federal parks and wildlife areas. It is fun seeing how many contacts you can make or the farthest contacts with minimal equipment. Plus it gets people outside to enjoy nature.

I normally use a 20 watt G90 and a 1/4 wave vertical antenna for POTA.

There are more apps being developed for MACOS and iPadOS for amateur radio compared to what use to be available.

More information on POTA: https://docs.pota.app

The NEO will work just fine for logging radio contacts while at a park.

Wow, sort of like field day, but minimal gear as if the country lost all comms ?

G90 ? Is that HF ? POTA shows most on low band - do they use SSB or CW or digital ?

I only use 6m, 2m, 70cm, and AM Aviation in my vehicle.

UHF mag mount - now I have a multi band compactenna to cover VHF & AM Aviation.

Yes the G90 is a HF radio that cover the 10 meter through 160 meter amateur bands. POTA is similar to how some clubs do field day.

I will install my logging software on the NEO and I might even install WSJT-X so I can work digital modes on the HF bands. I generally use an app called HAMRS for logging POTA contacts.

Another nice thing is I do have some RT Systems software for programming radios that will run on MACOS but will not run on IOS or iPadOS. So that is another reason to use the NEO over an iPad.

I just checked the Apple site and delivery dates for Citrus and Blush have pushed back to March 20-27. The other two colors still show March 11. Will be interesting to see if this keeps happening as the word gets out about the Neo.

Still showing Indigo & Citrus ready for Apple Store pickup and UPS delivery 3/11.

Maybe Monday or Tuesday we will get a tracking number - should be interesting if these ship from within the US - which Apple warehouse it will originate from.

Mine usually originates from Rialto, CA or Ontario, CA.
