Apple.com pre-orders: Who's stuck in "Preparing for Shipment"

Why couldn't this all be posted in the Apple.com pre-order status thread? 😕

Apple does update, some will see theirs updated while others will show "preparing for shipment". They don't appear to withhold details until the date gets closer as another member says.

You don't enter the main account holder phone number. I entered mine and having one line on my account nothing showed up. Now I have entered the number that is on the cc I used and it has showed up. Is the weight of your packages at 0.40kg?
 
I finally got the UPS trick to work, but for only one of the two phones I ordered (for a family plan). Both phones are still stuck in "preparing for shipping" on apple.com.

Has anyone ordered more than one phone and had both show up on the UPS site? What's the trick?

Currently, the one that shows up for me has a weight of 0.40 kg, which I assume is just one phone.

Under reference enter the Primary Account's mobile number, regardless what number you are upgrading or porting over. For example enter it as follows 9496758736, no prefix or dashes. Whoever is the main account holder, you gotta use that number to find it.

Then select your country, I assume USA, and your zip code.

Worked for me. I'm surprised that Apple is shipping UPS, as everything I have received from them previously was via FedEx.

Apple: still preparing for shipment
UPS: leaving China....will arrive by end of the day Friday the 14th

Departure Scan at China - UPs.com via Reference lookup.

I like Fedex better for me since they come to my business early before 10AM each day. They sometime drop off Fedex Ground early in the morning.
 
ahhhhh!!! finally found my tracking info on UPS! 😀 i've been checking it all day yesterday and night with no success. just happened give it another go again this morning (after apple.com order still showing "preparing for shipment") and BAM! it's still in HK, but scheduled to deliver end of the day Friday, hellllll yeaaaaah! :apple:
 
My second phone order finally shows up using the UPS trick!! First phone already got a shipping notice, second phone still say "Preparing for shipment". But, when I do the UPS track by reference trick, it now returns 2 tracking numbers, one for each phone order. My wife's has already left Anchorage, AK, mine has just departed Shenzen. She might get hers early, although both still say delivery by 14th.

So, if you have multiple orders, when it has shipped the UPS trick should return 2 tracking numbers even before Apple updates their status.

I just checked mine this morning and it nothing has changed on Apple's side. However, UPS is now showing it is in China. Who wants a road trip?!

Mine is showing as departing Anchorage Alaska at 11 PM last night local time.. I have no idea where it's headed next or how long this flight will take.
 
Same here, stuck on "preparing for shipment". Called Apple, representative said it was waiting for carrier pickup. Could be that some new iPhones are being shipped from US based warehouses, therefore shipping would be overnight thru FEDEX or UPS.
 
This is ridiculous. I ordered 2 about 1 minute apart from each other. One is in Anchorage Alaska, and the other is still "preparing for shipment". 🙁


Edit: I spoke too soon! Did the UPS tracking reference trick and both phones are now shipped 🙂
 
I had to use the Apple order no. as the reference on UPS:

Go here: UPS track

Click on Track by Reference

In the Shipment Reference window enter your Apple Order no. without the last 2 digits

Select country and enter 5 digit zip code.

Click on Track.

Mine shipped last night and is on the way for Friday!
 
I know it's silly but I'm starting to panic. I ordered at 5:30 am PST (32gb Blk At&t) and it's still stuck with no info on UPS. I'm on the west coast. I checked UPS for a family member who ordered around same time and their shipping info is there. Argh!

Oh no... don't panic! It will be there Friday.
 
Apple.com is showing "Prepared for Shipment".

UPS.com (using the trick) is showing my package is at Chek Lap Kok Airport in HKG as of 1.5 hours ago. 😀

Ordered @ 2:30AM PST.
 
Mine is still stuck in being prepared for shipment. I know it will get here just sucks not getting the updates. Tried the ups trick to no avail. Used phone number and order number dropping last two digits and get nothing. Oh well. Was hoping maybe it would get here a day early like my 4 did last year.
 
Thank you! It finally worked for me too! I had seen one that has been on it's way for two days, but now the other two are also showing up using the UPS Reference Track trick. Can't wait! I have complete faith in UPS to get them to me by the 14th 😎 (One just left Anchorage, AK, and two are in Chek Lap Khok, HK).

The only thing I'm still curious about is: why are some people able to see their delivery dates from UPS and FedEx? I still don't see any expected delivery dates from UPS's site. 😕

I too am stuck in shipping and apple said that most likely my phone isn't coming from china and that's why hasn't shipped yet. I did the ups and fedex Thingy but with no luck.
 
I'm still stuck in preparing for shipment too. I'm worried and nervous. I tried the UPS trick as well but got no information.
 
Mine is also still in "Preparing for Shipment" phase and nothing on UPS with the order #. I ordered in the evening on Friday though after going back and forth in my head about preordering or waiting in line.

Stuck? Worried? Panicked? You guys should hear yourselves. You sound RIDICULOUS. You're giving yourself gray hair over a TELEPHONE. You sound like a bunch of 5 year olds.

Do you do this at restaurants? Order food, then ask the waiter every 30 secs., "Is the food coming? Are you sure the order went through? Can you double triple quadruple check? Should I order something else? Should I have a pizza delivered here just in case?"

You OCD trackers are exactly what's wrong with the world today. Impatient, materialistic, and worst of all, mired in delusional entitlement.

CHILL OUT PEOPLE. YOU WILL GET THE PRECIOUS GADGET YOU SO DESERVE.

I want it, I want it, I want it! 😀

Yes, I'm throwing a bit of a tantrum. I know it will get here when it gets here but I believe this is the most anticipation I've ever had for a phone. I got the 3gs well after it was released and skipped the 4. I've never had to wait on a phone before and yes i've been a bit OCD about checking the status.

Still i say the 14th can't get here fast enough!!
