Apple.com preorder thread - iPhone 6/6 Plus

Ordered two iPhones (6 and 6 Plus). Both still show Preparing for Shipment, but got a tracking number from My UPS for 1 of the 2, not sure which one.

Apparently you don't have to be a member. There is a whole thread about this somewhere but On it they said you can contact UPS and they will put it on Will Call for you and you can pick it up on the 19th. I just put mine on will call, but I am a member so I don't know for sure

Just saw that. It says between 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm for will call pickup. Is that what yours says too?

Just saw that. It says between 12:00 pm and 7:00 pm for will call pickup. Is that what yours says too?

no mine says pickup as soon as they open at 10:30 am... I am a my choice premium member though

There was some discussion on another thread about people calling Apple, striking up a conversation, and being given free cases. Obviously I do not know the magic word.

My 2 iPhone 6s and 1 iPhone 6 Plus is coming from RIALTO, CA and did not even show shipping leg from China. Does this mean Apple shipped iPhones here before the pre-order process. I find it strange! But as long as I get my iPhones on the 19th I will be happy!

Huh? Yeah. I want a free case. 128GB + through sprint preparing for shipment. No support profile or ups tracking number. My wife got a 128gb 6 through sprint and she has a support profile and a tracking number. Her's is coming from china. Like everyone has said, if your phone is preparing for shipment and has a 9/19 delivery, there probably isn't a reason to move it yet. You have to look at it from a supply chain perspective. Apple has warehouses with these phones taking up space, costing them money. Why would UPS want to ship your phone today, and take up their own warehouse space for a couple days. It'll sit at apple. Not ups.

They'll give you a case for your inconvenience if they actually manage to screw up, like delay your delivery for some reason. You can't expect one unless your expected delivery date suddenly changes.

Check the weight - 1 lb for the 6, 1.3 or 2 lb for the 6+.

Wow, so much impatience in this thread. They just announced the new iPhone last Tuesday and people are already worried about not having tracking #s yet. Just wait till it's Friday and it's 11 PM and UPS delivery guy is still driving to a ton of places before your home.

Dont worry it's coming. Mines said preparing for shipping since Sunday. No tracking or even tracking by refrence through ups. But I know it's coming. They charged me already yesterday. No more pending. Just wait a day.

Theirs, obviously they should allocate the serial number immediately upon purchase have iBeacons all along the delivery route so we can find our phone from the minute it's powered on at the factory until it arrives at our doorstep.

Hah, that reminds me of the time the FedEx delivery guy forgot about my package (A/V processor) in the truck. He found it when he got back to the warehouse at about 9pm, and hopped back in his truck for a very late delivery. Poor guy was tired, highly apologetic, and really awesome for that.

I ordered an AT&T 6 and 6 Plus both 64gb. They are both now showing on my Apple Support Profile. So I know I'll have them Friday.

My 6 16g is still preparing for shipment on the apple site, but UPS says its sitting in TN, so I'll take it!

Normally my stuff from apple comes from Fedex, but this phone gets to come by UPS. Signed up for free for My Choice and was able to change my delivery to Hold for Pick up. So I'll go get it before work Friday.

Got to be rough, people always go right to blaming the delivery guy when something goes wrong, like he personally took your package out of the truck and shot it with a machine gun or something.

I feel bad enough sometimes for one of the UPS guys that comes to my house thanks to all my Amazon orders...

My iPhone 6 is in Rialto, CA with a shipping label created. When do you think UPS will start processing these so tracking info shows up and moving them to next location in shipping process? Tonight? Tomorrow night?

I'm not worried but wondering if anyone has any insight into UPS operations.

No. Mine just told me the hours that they are open (9am-6:30pm). No other time was mentioned. And I am a My Choice member but I am not a premium member.
