Thanks for the clarification on that. Was considering doing the NEXT program but I had the money saved up so I might as well just buy it.
 
One thing's for sure, calling Apple isn't going to achieve much, if you're worried, well, everyone is, but Apple has historically done a good job delivering on release date. This isn't a normal shipping situation, the whole job is custom, end to end, like the release of a Harry Potter book.

I've got:
Sprint 6 Plus 64GB silver
Leather black case

I placed them close together (phone @ 3:36 EST) with Friday delivery, and using my order numbers as a reference doesn't work for the phone; but tracking the case shows Tennessee when using my cell number as a reference - which is odd, I guess they assign your Apple account's contact phone as a reference to all store orders perhaps? I am pretty sure the 0.5lb weight on the case order isn't my phone.

Nothing in the profile, still says preparing for shipment.

Also, did this happen to anyone? I switched to Sprint cuz of the bonus $100 off one year ago, paid $200 for a 32gb 5S. I qualified somehow for a full subsidy again, $400 for the 6 Plus 64gb, no clue how.

I asked this before. Has anyone who preordered a 6+ on friday to have pickup at the apple store on the 19th seen anything on their order? Mine is still sitting at processing with a pre auth on my card. Does anyone know if these particular orders will change to shipped to apple store or anything anytime soon?

Maybe this will help someone out there ... but what *I* did was this. Having bought a 5S, I was not eligible for upgrade pricing. Which meant that I'd have to pay $949 AND GET a 2-year contract (YES, the contract applied EVEN IF I pay full price, since I was buying from Apple and not AT&T), compared with $499 with 2-year commitment.

So what I did was this: I paid the ETF (which was just a bit more than $200.) Therefore I was OFF contract. So I DID buy the 128 GB 6+ at $499.

At the same time, AT&T unlocked my 5s. Selling it on Gazelle for $315. Effective price of 6+: $330

I THOUGHT of using Next but decided against it. First, I NEVER buy anything on installment (I bought my condo with cash!). And I was worried what would happen if I bought on Next and then LOST the phone!

On Apple's site it's still saying "preparing for shipment" so I checked on UPS and found this. The phone is shipping from Harrisburg, PA via Next Day Air.

I'm in the same boat as you. What I've been told is that if your credit card has a pending charge (and apparently if your order number has a W prefix) then you should be able to pick up your iPhone on the 19th. And you may receive a "ready for pickup" notification as late as the day of the release.
 
Getting it on the support page is the step DIRECTLY before you get a tracking. I just got support profile a little over an hour ago (actually showed phone too, not just an apple logo) and now I also have a tracking number I found via reference.

I do not see where it is coming from....but it sys UPS Next Day Air Saver. Just says label has been created etc etc.

EVEN MORE EXCITED NOW!!!

Same as me. "Processing" and card auth.

Unlike some other posts in pickup thread, I'm going to assume that we preorders WILL get an email.

It gives insight on Launch Day procedures - especially for Personal Pickups like you and me.

There were two interesting points from that article:

1. PPUs when arriving will need to get their "Ready For Pickup" barcodes scanned. I'm assuming that will be IN an email.

2. The article also said that Apple Stores will start receiving inventory as early as Wed. It's logical to assume that they will start setting aside preorders as early as possible. Whenever that happens, it's logical to assume that THAT will be when your card gets charged.

Order status still said "prepare for shipment"...UPS has tracking number...and phone show up on my support profile w serial number

Phone come from Tennessee

ok interesting to know. When i called apple yesterday and remained on hold for 1hr and 50 mins he said that not to worry i will get my phone on the 19th at the apple store. On a side note my wifes phone which is a 6+ 16gb (mine is a 64gb) is on its way. Already requested will call and all.
 
iPhone 6 Plus 64GB Silver just showed up in my Support Profile. Order with the Apple Store app around 3:35. Finally making progress!
