Just did a little experiment...
Went to the Apple store to see if they had the phones I ordered available to pick up in my area...
Negatory! Not even a little bit.
People saying they can go pick up the phone NOW instead of waiting may want to think again before they cancel their current order...(I know there was 1 last week...apparently they are gone now).
These phones are not as plentiful as some want you to think...that's another reason why we are waiting so patiently...

I've been stuck on preparing for shipment for 3 days and there still is no tracking info on ups for me.

Yes it's back to in transit. Just left Zhengzhou again ...it is Ground Hog Day or April Fools Day or did it really leave this time. No delivery posted date though.

They update the next day's inventory every evening at midnight local time. That's when you should check the Apple Store app and reserve for pick up.

I got a text saying my phone will delivered today! After starting with a 10/1 delivery, then 10/2, then 10/3 and even 10/6, it looks like 10/2 is the magic date. My phone arrived in Louisville today at 12:35 am, left at 4:13 and then arrived in Philly at 5:40.
I think that can be used not sure though. You can use the billing phone number you put in when ordering though
Like I suspected, after customs cleared, the scans would begin to make sense. Delivery is today in spite of it moving from the 6th, to the 2nd, to the 3rd, then again to the 6th. It went from HK to AK to KY and now NC. It pays to be patient. I still have my hair and nails & later it looks like I'll have my phone.

... and I cancelled an AT&T order -- but I am paying full price and had my card charged three days ago. Calling Apple today to find out what's up.
And my ship date on apple.com is still between 10/15 and 10/21.
No shipping notification either.

Yeah. I have that too. Except it now shows yet another departure scan from ZZ at 4:30 pm local time.

Ordered 6+ 128G at 6am EDT on 9/12 from Apple. Original delivery estimate 9/13-20. Card charged over a week ago. I just checked and my Apple Store has the phone for pickup today but I can't cancel my order because it has shipped. Or "shipped."
What is the chance if I go to store today they can cancel it for me and I can go home with a phone?

I was ready to throttle UPS. Got an email yesterday saying I had a package coming 10/1. Um no. it got stuck in Louisville. Changed delivery to today. It has arrived at the local UPS. I will be picking it up in 2 hours

AT&T... been with them for 10 years... They accomodate me because of my tenure, whenever I need to adjust my bill. They even gave me my unlimited data back after I canceled it months ago.
