Apple.com preorder thread - iPhone 6/6 Plus

It is a confirmation that you placed your order. I have the same thing here. They send you another when it's ready to ship. It says so right there in the email..we'll let you know when your items are on the way.

Did some research based on the iPhone 5 pre-orders 2 years ago (so everything could be completely different based on the IT problems Apple's been having this year! :p)

tl;dr: Apple sent shipping confirm e-mails w/ tracking #s 1-2 days before launch.

Pre-orders were on Sept. 14 & I had a launch date delivery confirm e-mail. (Launch was Sept 21 - I think I ordered via the Apple Store app).

I didn't get a shipping notification e-mail from Apple until the day before launch (Sept. 20 @ 8:30AM Central time). The e-mail included a UPS tracking # & a link to pre-sign for the delivery (Highly Recommended!!)

Fortunately, a few days earlier, some of the forum members figured out how to reverse look up our packages via phone # or order # (I can't remember exactly). We were able to track our phones' flights from China to the states with a pit-stop in Alaska! When some of us saw a temporary shipping fault due to an Alaskan blizzard, it was HYSTERIA! But, miraculously, our phones arrived on time LOL!

Hoping we figure out how to do that again!!:D
 
Incredibly, I put my order an hour after pre orders started and still got two iPhones 6 plus, 64 and 128 gb. Actually, I got a reservation number for one of them and had to go back and do that later, but still, I think I was very lucky; after refreshing all pages for almost an hour with no results I had no hope left. That's when I went on the internet and read that some people were getting through on Apple's app and that's what I did. I was charged today! Never been so happy to watch money scape out of my hands. I still can't believe it!:eek::D
 
I pre ordered an iPhone 6 plus 64GB in Space Grey, and everything went smoothly. It says "delivers on 9/19". Does that mean it will definitely be delivered to me on that day? or is it an estimated date?

Estimated, but you'll likely get it that day, based on my experience.
 
Ordered 128GB Space Gray iPhone 6 Plus from the Apple Store app at 2:29CDT. Scheduled delivery for 9/19

I'll be out of town on 9/19 when our phones are to arrive... I was hoping to set up pickup from store but that wasn't an option... Oh well getting it 9/22 is better than 10/??!
 
Hi, I ordered the iPhone 6 space grey 64gb thru AT&T website once pre ordering became available. I was curious to know how I can check to see that my iphone is off backorder.

someone please help, I just want to know which website I can check to see if my phone is off backorder.

I think its obvious now that the 6 Plus phones were in shirt supply from the beginning (as rumors had suggested).
 
I struggled so much pre ordering the iPhone 6 plus but luckily when i was trying to do it on the apple store app on my iPhone it gave me a reservation number. I finally got the email saying that i may proceed with my order and i completed my order at 10:00 a.m. and fortunately have the 9/19 delivery date. I ordered two iPhone 6 plus's 64 gb silver for at&t and both show as processing. Has anybody's order changed to preparing for shipment?
 
Ordered via AT&T But CC Declined Due To Incorrect Address

I ordered two phones at 2:55am and 3am at launch and AT&T said everything was good. Got a text message the next day saying problem with CC.

Could not get through to them yesterday - AT&T Order Support disconnected every call I made saying too many callers.

Finally got through today at 1:30pm after a 40 min hold time. Now shipping date has slipped to 11/09/2014 to 11/27/2014 after CC went through.

Should I cancel and reorder somewhere else?

I canceled mine today and ordered from my apple store app and got the delivery date up by a month.
 
Apple.com Orders - Tracking/delivery dates

Anyone get a tracking numbers or are you still stuck in order processing stage?

Preorders form the carriers sites were getting shipping information on Saturday ....

update:

9/13 - Looks like Apple.com orders are moving to preparing for shipment also

Now waiting on the tracking numbers... :) .

9/14 - Seems like there is some buzz about getting ups tracking numbers at www.ups.com when you search by reference. Will update when we get more verification.

Looks like tracking numbers are flowing in for the preorders (if you search by reference) and UPS or FedEx.

I'm still in processing stage but from what I read, apple usually starts shipping closer to the delivery date
