Managed to get the preorder done. Been an iPhone user since iPhone 4, but never preordered it until this time. It has my CC information listed, but it hasn't charged my CC yet. Is this normal?

Well where do you live? I live in Los Angeles, lots of people here. Plus we're two different people, different experiences.
Been on hold with Apple customer support for 35 minutes to make a small update to shipping address.... wondering how long the wait time will be. Good thing it's a slow work day.
I was on hold 1.5 hours, then another few min to update the address to ship to home and not store.

Woke up at 2:45am (EST) and was able to order phones form iPad at 3:26 and 3:28. I was only allowed to order 1 at a time for some reason even though I had 2 that I could upgrade from Verizon.
Then I looked in this morning to check order status and it could not auth. card on one phone (same was used for both) so I put the new info in and it changed me for that one (the iPhone 6 plus 64gb) but Apple has yet to charger for the iPhone 6 64gb. No idea why yet.
So if you go and try to preorder one from Apple (or anyone for that matter) right now, are you on a ship date of mid Oct.?

Got two 64g iPhone 6 plus in silver. Ordered through apple store app on iPad. Got the first one with a confirmation at 12:51am then decided to grab one for my husband and was given a reservation. Reservation email came in at 8am this morning and I made the purchase. Both will be delivered on 9/19! YAY!! When we ordered our iPhone 4's we got them the day before launch so fingers crossed that happens again.

I actually ordered from Apple first. Sorry if I wasn't clear, I'm sleepy. After I ordered from Apple and checked my email for the confirmation I then went to the AT&T site and cancelled my preorder. I then checked Apple again because I was paranoid and my order was still there so everything is all good.
I have ordered my iPhone 6 one minute after the Store opened at the Apple Store Germany and now my order status says "Preparing for Shipment"
Very, very doubtful. UPS or whoever will hold it until release day.

I called my bank and they flagged all orders from California as fraud this morning since they saw alot of traffic.
I was like. . . . uh. . . . .there was a new phone released so all this traffic is likely for apple. They confirmed they knew already as they got a bunch of calls.
Now I cant get on Apple's site to update my order and cant get anyone on the phone.
I swear this is such a headache!

The $30 charge for me was for my grandfathered unlimited data plan. Maybe it's the same for you?
I called in at 8am est.
Order status page still says processing on both phones and I have only been charged for the plus so far.
I'm having the exact problem viewing order history on apple.com. It appears many others are as well.
3-4 weeks to what... 9/19 delivery? Pretty dang slim.
Bump to 1-2 weeks is slightly more possible, but don't keep your hopes up. Expect the worse.
