What are the chances that the 3-4 week delivery time gets bumped up? Could this just be a blanket estimate since they're not certain how long it will take?
I need this phone before NYCC!

Apple ships items as fast as they can manufacture them. In general, I've found delivery estimates to be worst case and item is usually shipped/delivered earlier. However, given your estimate is 3-4 weeks, don't expect delivery by launch day. Actually, it might arrive right around NYCC.

I got an email but cannot access my order history on the Apple store website or app. (get the same error message that others are reporting). The pending charges from apple are no longer listed when I log into my bank site but I imagine that's normal.

How long are the lines for people who preordered for pickup at the apple store?

This pre order was a total joke. Couldn't get on until 5:30am to get an unlocked version and now to delivery until october 1-6. Couldn't even select pickup in store.

Needless to say I was a bit pissed, if they are going to have these kinds of issues why the hell make the launch at midnight and 3am for east coast.

i had no issues at all 4.7 i did a order on verizon cancelled it and did it through apple 2 hours later no issues whats so ever being delivered 9/19

I ended up getting mine ordered through the Apple Store app on my iPhone 5. I got mine ordered about 2:40 am. So it didn't take an extremely long time. I ended up getting the 6 Plus 64GB in space gray with a 9/19 shipping date.

Pretty good. Those tend to be worst case estimates. Apple tends to under promise and over deliver.

Mine is. But my delivery date is Oct. 1-6, so I'm assuming it's going to stay in that phase for a while.

They don't charge until they ship, but you should have seen an authorization by now.

By the way, if the authorization amount isn't EXACTLY what your reciept says, it's OK. People freak out over that, but it's due to the way Apple's auth system allocates sales tax.

If you haven't been authorized by now, and you're expecting a phone launch day, I'd be a little concerned.

Inventory issues.

Actually both are likely factors in 6+ selling out faster. There is obviously high demand for bigger screen phones / phablets as evidence by popularity of Samsung's Galaxy Note. And then there are the rumors of production issues with the 6+.

I hope that is the case. This will probably leave a better taste in my mouth for the rough pre order process.

Apple is saying to change my shipping address to my billing address that it will delay the shipment. The representative states that this has always been the case although I have changed my address before and this has not been my experience. Any thoughts on this?

I ordered around 3:30 this morning. I a confirmation email with order number, a delivery date of September 19th, the taxes and a $1.00 charged to my credit card (two separate charges), and Apple sent my Next paperwork in an email,but my status on Apple website still says processing.
