mine stilll says preparing for shipment as well. but my card has officially been charged the ~547$. So im just assuming ill get it friday. i mean it hasnt changed from that date as far as guaranteed delivery.

The way I understand things when you make a purchase it puts a hold on the account. The merchant then sends what amounts to be a confirmation which completes the transaction. Given all of the tracking numbers and serials posted without status changes on the orders, it seems like their order system is really backed up and not processing stuff fast enough. I'm a little concerned but until my actual order says "Your Screwed", I'm not going to lose any sleep over it.

Extremely similar situation here. Differences are Gold and Birmingham, but mostly identical to what you said.
Originally ordered with AT&T and then cancelled. I ordered with Apple.com on Saturday, 9/13. Shipping estimate is 10/14 - 10/21.

I'm the same and my pending charge has dropped from my credit card. But I have to assume I'm still on for my scheduled Friday delivery, as I'm still "preparing for shipment" with a 9/19 delivery date? I'm thinking my 64gb Gold 6 Plus must be somewhere in the U.S. I ordered around 45 minutes after pre-order started. I've been through enough of these that I'm not gonna panic....
I was able to find my UPS tracking number by entering my phone number paired with the iPhone 6 being shipped. Lable was created yesterday, it's already stateside in MOUNT JULIET, TN with a delivery date set for 9/19.

I'm also in the same situation - outside of Richmond, VA - Gold 64 GIG iPhone 6 Plus (via ATT NEXT on Apple's app) - order went through at 3:25 EST on the 12th. It changed over to Preparing for Shipment on Saturday night - been stuck there. Some people have theorized those of us without tracking or info in our profile (like me) have our phones on the East Coast already which is why there's no movement yet. Most of the post I've seen are people that have tracking numbers and their phones are coming from China. I've been trolling other boards and I know some people have tracked down their phones to PA and TN already. I'm not going to freak out - I still have a 9/19 delivery date and I fully expect some movement tomorrow hopefully. I called Apple yesterday and they assured me my order was fine and I actually wouldn't see a status change until as late as Thursday which makes me think maybe our phones are already state side.

That sounds just like my situation. I've been. Hatched for them because they have been taking out of my available balance. But the transaction is still processing according to my bank app. You made me feel reassured with what you said apple told you. Thanks.

I've got two orders coming, a 64GB Space Grey 6 ordered on Friday morning and a 64GB Gold 6 ordered mid day Saturday. Both are showing delivery by 9/19 on Apple's site and are "preparing for shipment".
When I track using my phone number via UPS, I get two tracking numbers, one is coming from China, the other is getting overnighted from the states.
Apples site is obviously backed up and lagging. Friday can't get here soon enough!

When I ordered my mac mini back in July it came from China to my house in less than 24 hours. It's not at all unfeasible.

How can you tell if the new phone is in your support profile? I'm not sure how to get there.
Secondly, how can I check FedEx/UPS for tracking? I'm still in preparing for shipment. Ordered at 2:20 AM CST on 9/12. 64gb Space Grey iphone 6

Switched from Processing to Preparing for Shipping last night around 5pm. Still no tracking info on UPS. I tried both the phone number and order number in the Reference field in UPS and no luck yet.
Could be shipping via another service, but most seem to be on UPS.

Ditto here, ordered 3:40am EST via iOs app, 6+ Gold 129gb AT&T. I did find some kind of package reference on UPS with no tracking # or other details. Apple says all is well and I expect it is. Obsessively checking checking checking....
