Apple.com: 'The first 30 years were just the beginning... Welcome to 2007'

I think I just soiled myself...

Apple doesn't do this unless they really have something spectacular up their sleeves.

I think this is a greeting and a hint towards illuminess being previewed. There is a now Blacked mac emblem from the glowing light behind it.

... You my friend hit the nail right on the head. This is totally reminiscent of the new UI rumored to be named "illuminess". I think one of the Top Secret features of Leopard will be a completely new UI. Windows is running out of breath, this is Jobs' chance at sprinting past Microsoft for the first time since Windows 3.1

I feel that this banner alludes to events to happen throughout 2007, not just MWSF, but I think we'll get a good view of it during the keynote.

Ballmer just threw a chair....:D

ROFLMAO!!! :D

AND he just realized that he has no clothes. :p

(GOOGLE: "the emperor has no clothes" if you don't get it) ;)

How much does it cost to go to MAcworld?

$50 million. They need YOU to pay for the telcom center that's gonna be used for MacPhone traffic. ;)

Just saw a new ABC commercial on Tv and the AQUA like circle was now shiny with a black "illuminess" defining the edge. ;)

The CEO of Google (fastest growing NASDAQ stock with large capitalization) is on the Apple board.

The former VP of the (whole) USA is on the Apple board.

The most egocentric and reality distortion field person on the planet (SJ) is iCEO of Apple.

He even tamed the Beatles snake (who had no basis for their many and expensive claims).

At some point you have to admit he took a purchase from Lucas (no mean feat), to a multiple-domination of the theatrical release market (no mean feat), to the person who defines "imagineering" at DISNEY (unimaginable feat) . . .

So what (or who?) does Apple think it is going to eclipse? That's the main image I get from the graphic. Sun is too weak to eclipse and mean anything - and that would just be way too corny. How long until we see something about "eclipsing the upcoming vista" or something like that?

hopefully it'll be a daily updating image...at least it appears to be one based on the image name:

welcome2007_20070101 .jpg

what will
welcome2007_20070102. jpg and up until the event bring?

could be play on the "showtime event" as were are getting closer to the spotlights.

:D ;) :p

or perhaps we are following apple to the "bright" future.

Nice catch, you might be on to something there!!

I don't think it really means anything. The name of the image just has today's date on it (indicating when it was posted). If you go to http://www.apple.ca, it still has the old C2D image, and that one has a date too....

Still, maybe they are hinting something...or maybe we're all just making things up for our own pleasure :p.

maybe maybe not

I think all that is because of the Apple Phone (or whatever they gonna call it) and the iTV its 2 new markets for apple so i think we will see them at MWSF and maybe with a new display to show the iTV on them and probably 24" to replace the 23. but again if this is true why didn't they launched it before xmas?

Leopard not now but again who knows!

iLife '07
is an option too and maybe with something to do with iTV

other than that I don't think there will be something big (its already big I know:)) as we all know about intel and their future plans 8 cores already on HP and Dell and they did it without big bangs so probably apple will show us the 8 cores at NAB with new Final Cut to take advantage of the 8 cores and Leopard will be already announced.
And maybe by the end of the year will see the 16 cores!

wow its going to be Apple year

I'm just thinking loud..and I'm sure I'll be surprised too:eek:

i think i might be getting the final release of leopard in the mail for my adc membership a litter earlier than i thought. I have a good feeling on this one, i think apple is going to try to steal the show before vista is released. It only makes sense that way to me. I could be wrong though.

ummm... Call me stupid...

Well, as Apple have said, so should I! Happy new year everyone!

Like the idea, but the graphic does look a little... poorly done? Especially that distortion in the corner... (for want of a better word!)

Why is everyone looking at this as a "black apple" with a distortion??
It looks to me like a WHITE Apple .. I know , I know.. just follow me...
but a WHITE APPLE... being sort of "unveiled" by the light? Like.. i took it as " apple is coming out of the dark"... or maybe.. It's like a " new dawn" or something.. or maybe it's just a " Dawn of the New Year"..

Ok, I have met my Quotation Mark Quota, along with my period quota, so I am gonna go.

Happy New Year!

Angie

Not getting worked up...

2005 was touted as "The year of HD" by Apple... yeah, get back to me on that one Steve...

Apple throws around the words "amazing", "breathtaking", "elegant" throwing brushed metal and a reflection on any piece of plastic or graphic like it was going out of style. Not getting worked up.

Since they're after our money, I'm sure we'll see nothing more than modest upgrades to the iPod this year, a phone with poor battery power, and of course, the most interesting product, iTV... with support for 802.11n

Since I'm hoping for AVI/Divx, along with PVR support, it will likely only cater to MOV files or MPG, similar to iPod... with some fatal flaw making the next revision worthwhile to buy... perhaps limited to 640x480, or 4:3 video only.

I'm seriously running out of shelf space for DVDs, and would love a product that could encode the discs in Widescreen, with 6.1 audio, and decent picture.

/Probably asking too much.
