Apple Confirms Redesigned Maps App Has Rolled Out to All Users Across United States

I'm pushing hard because your original post laboured under the assumption that a land border with the US is the most deserving candidate to get updated Apple Maps features. That is a patently absurd proposition when the requisite mapping is being conducted in multiple countries. You might want to drive into Canada. Because you can. But that does not make your car any more deserving to get the new map updates than, say, someone who lives in the UK.

and there is the difference between logic and emotion

I’m not sure how long it’s been like this but it appears the City of York (UK) has been updated to the ‘new look’? F44617F6-E315-484A-B464-E32AA105CF42.png

I’m in a 3D view area of the U.K. but we don’t have building outlines around here.View attachment 892623

Right...3D buildings (or in this case, only outlines for now) are in major cities typically. They will be replaced by new mapping data, even areas with 3D buildings currently.

What you are seeing is no different than various areas of the USA before updates hit.

The easiest way to tell is to look for outdoor tennis courts, swimming pools, golf clubs. These will show up in the map view. They are not in York...just look at Heworth Golf Club...building outlines around it, but no land features included with new Maps data.

Maybe the buildings should be a tad transparent in order to better see the important bits. Also, parks and such are too similar in color to green surroundings for me as well.
