Bloomberg has received confirmation from Apple that Steve Jobs has returned to work at Apple following his liver transplant, currently working part-time at the company's headquarters in Cupertino and part-time from home. Jobs reportedly returned to work last Monday, but today's report is the first confirmation directly from Apple.
Steve Jobs is back at work at Apple Inc., returning to his job as chief executive officer as planned after taking medical leave in January.

"Steve is back to work," Steve Dowling, an Apple spokesman, said today. Jobs is at Apple a few days a week and working at home the remaining days, he said. "We are very glad to have him back," Dowling said.
Jobs announced in mid-January that he would be taking a medical leave of absence until the end of June, and today's report confirms that he has met his target.

Excellent news, although I expect we'll see in the coming months that Tim Cook will take over as CEO and Jobs will probably become chairman or something along the lines of being involved in development and strategy of new products. A reduced role for him makes sense seeing as the company did very well without him the last six months.

When Apple say something is happening in a certain month, it always happens at the end though - so Jobs was just staying true to that.

Again, I vote that anyone who thinks that funny be instantly and indefinitely banned from MacRumors.
Who peed in all you guys' wheeties?
You cannot necessarily say there is going to be one... it might be other Apple executives for the rest of eternity...

Yes, he is back, but at what cost? Only time will tell if the source of Steve's success was his old liver. Without it, Apple may never be the same...

Apple always said 'end of June'. Only some fans, haters and a few ignorant press ever said 'June'.

I agree with the statement "They have their visionary back..."
Glad he's doing alright and look forward to seeing him back on a media event stage soon.

Glad he's back. Hopefully he'll take it easy ... after the Apple Macbook Nano is released. :p
