Who peed in all you guys' wheeties?

Well, it's likely true. I'm really glad he's back at work, it'll be very therapeutic for him. There's nothing worse than staying home from work due to a long-term illness. But, in reality, he's finished with his former role. There will be no more Steve-notes and no more 15 hour days. Sure, the liver transplant definitely saved his life, but it just exchanged a terminal disease for a more manageable, chronic disease.

Wasn't there supposed to be a media event or product announcement he was going to be part of when returning?

When do you think he will show his face to the public?

I think he will wait until he gains his weight back and looks healthy before he makes any public appearance. He wants to put this health difficulties behind him, but more importantly to put the news reports to rest.

Also, as others mentioned I would not be surprised for Tim Cook to take over day to day operations - but not for a year or so. Why? cause it would again bring up health issues to close to his recent return to work.

I am very happy to know that someone who has been my inspiration from a long time (remember Standford's University worlds) has return to one of the things that he mostly loves: his work.

Wellcome back Steve, and thanks a lot for your return.

I think there was a rumor to that accord but nothing confirmed.

Ah here it is... a little googling was all I needed.

http://www.macobserver.com/tmo/article/report_steve_jobs_on_track_to_return_to_apple_end_of_june/

It quotes the WSJ as saying: "The Journal also said that Apple "senior managers" are trying to coordinate Mr. Jobs' return with a product launch or other special event."

You don't have any idea what his medical condition will or won't allow him to do. The idea that a guy who's had a liver transplant can't give 90 minute keynote speeches anymore is baffling to say the least.

YAYAYAYAAAY!!! :D Welcome back Steve, hope all continues well!

So what are the chances of the iPhone 4G being OLED people? :) Also, you think there is any chance that they will make the screen a 16:9 aspect ratio anytime soon??? I hope so, but I know it creates developer pains.

Tim and Steve should team up as training partners and run a marathon together to silence the critics.

Good on ya, mate! Glad to hear you're back in the flesh.

Gotta be thankful for whoever supplied his replacement liver. I'm not up on transplants, but I'm sure it was someone's death that gave Jobs a new chance at life. Pray for that person and their family, too.

On a lighter note, I can just imagine Steve Ballmer now, choking the life out of his hired voodoo doctor...

"Damn you! Can't you see?! It didn't work!"

I wish anyone that had that kind of transplant the best. Just surviving is far beyond Apple. Good news to hear

Welcome back, Steve. I hope you were thinking of great new initiatives for Apple while you were recuperating. Now you can make them happen.

Now that we all know he actually had a liver transplant I wished he would have taken more time off.
If I was him i would take an additional 3 months off to be on the safe side. Hopefully, his work "schedule" is just for show and that he is REALLY taking it part time.

Regardless though, now that he is back I would hope now more progress (or really more rumor leaks are made) on the iTablet/MacTouch can be made. Hopefully it will launch this year.

So I wonder if anyone pranked his office. 6 months gives a lot of time to plan. Maybe fill his office with Zunes? swap his computer with an IIe? possibilities are endless! Although I'm sure whoever did it would get fired... :)
