All this talk about steve jobs almost dying is nothing compared to Michael Jackson. Hee Hee Shamona!

Excellent news, although I expect we'll see in the coming months that Tim Cook will take over as CEO and Jobs will probably become chairman or something along the lines of being involved in development and strategy of new products. A reduced role for him makes sense seeing as the company did very well without him the last six months.

I agree that a reduced role would make sense.

However the performance of Apple during the past six months was not only created during his abscence. The seeds for the excellent performance in the past 6 months have been planted months, maybe years before Steve left. A company like Apple could probably cruise on for 6 months without a CEO and still do fine.

Whether the management of Apple was successful during steve's abscence will become clear within the next year. I think it is to early to judge.

Awesome, no more ridiculous products like the latest iPod shuffle!

You obviously don't know anything about how long it takes for a product to go to market. Do you really think this was all done during those few months that Steve was absent?

Just glad he is back. Really.

Here here to great health for us all. I could use some prayer as I am booing through some serious stuff.

Thank you.

Hi! Great to see you.. That landscape keyboard is doing miracles for your typing accuracy :D:D:D

Try to get into the city more often, and look at Apple's stock during Steve's absence. You did well if you purchased in Jan after the "letter of Wine."

He is not a diety, and is neither Red nor White. :apple:

Sorry, you missed the sarcasm. I'm a long time Apple stock holder, and I get into the Twin Cities all the time.:D

Now ... about Tim Cook ... don't know much about him, but am chagrined at what I was able to see ... that he worked for Compaq for a while.

Well, that's what I was thinking when I found out that co-creator and head writer of LOST, Damon Lindelof, used to write for Nash Bridges. People gotta start somewhere :)

As far as The Return of the Jedi goes, I am very, very happy, for my own selfish reasons, that Steve is back at Apple. Hopefully, we'll see more attention paid to the pro apps, though it could be argued that the neglect was there before he went on leave.

How can anyone rate this as a negative??

Welcome back!

OK boys and girls, first order of business is to remove all those "ugly" spaces between the iPhone "G3 S". Then take liverwurst off the cafeteria menu.

Now, what's this I hear about hot, pink iPhones and throttled down MacBook Pros?!?

It seems I can't leave you kids alone for a few months.

Yes, Steve, you've been missed.

It's somewhat funny, in this day and age, that Steve Jobs is considered 'back to work' only when he physically comes to his Apple office.

Tim Cook still CEO?

So it's been nearly a month since Steve Jobs returned to Apple, yet Tim Cook is still CEO?

I remember seeing Cook mentioned as "provisional CEO" while Steve Jobs was on leave, but now he's being referred to simply as "Apple's CEO, Tim Cook".

Will Steve maintain a smaller role in the company or do we expect him to return to being CEO?

Either way, the company seems to be in good hands. As long as Jobs remains a contributer I don't see why Apple has anything to fear.
