"Ridiculous" is ignoring the Galaxy S4, that sold 10 million units [Sold, not units shipped to retailers], in less than 1 month.

Hmmm... what size screen does an S4 have....?

There is a market for a larger phone, 10 million people let us know that last month alone. In the same way these very same markets, let Apple know there was a market for a 7" iPad...

Have a nice day.

You mean this S4 that tanked Samsung stock last week due to slowing sales? Not sure if that is the model Apple needs to be following at this time giving its own stock plunge.

I'm sure IF Apple thinks there is a viable market for a larger iPhone it will put one out there. I'd bet it already has prototypes in its sunk works. But the market has yet to prove 1) larger phones have general, not niche, selling power, and 2) they have longevity and not a fad.

I can much more likely see Apple making either a larger iPod Touch or a smaller iPad mini for the 6" crowd that uses their large screen phone as a small tablet rather than a phone.

I've really liked the Galaxy Nexus's 4.65" screen, an iPhone of the same size would be nice.

I'm afraid I will have to stick with the 4S for a while - 3.5" is the perfect size for a phone imo. The real issue has never been the screen size, it's still the battery and the OS. Ignoring the weird icon gradients I believe iOS 7 will finally attract those who were eager for android/windows phone in terms of interface design, but were unsatisfied with the apps and overall product.
Let's just hope Apple longs for the battery this year - the MacBook Air is finally amongst those laptops I'd strongly consider to buy.

Finally! Choice! I'd love a 5.7 screen, hardly use my smartphone for calling, it's my portable mini computer.
BTW if they wait until late 2014, their market share will drop even more. Get these larger iphones out later this year.

Get a tablet if you don't make calls in the first place.

I know everyone seems to hate large screens but for me it would be a boon.

As a 50 something with not the best of eyesight, I struggle with my iPhone 5's retina display. When I increase the font size for emails and safari, the amount of information on the screen diminishes rapidly.

I would love to see a larger screen.

I'm not as concerned about screen size as I am:

- Battery Life

- Durability

But that's just me...

The note 2 have awesome battery aswell the galaxy s4 and htc one to name a couple :) running a OS that have a lot more going on than iOS (background services) and lol durability ? Get real they all have the same weak point  the screen.

Apple just need to up the size of the screen to whatever they think its the "right" size, get rid of big bezels and they will have plenty of room for a bigger battery but i must say ios7 is eating the battery of my 4s so who knows.

Oh c'mon Apple sold that with iPhone 5 in what? 2 weeks? I don't think they should just start pumping out huge phones because every other company is doing it,if there is any advantage in going bigger they should but making it bigger just because isn't the way to go besides if they do that then developers would have to support a 4.7-inch iPhone,a 5.7-inch iPhone,a 4-inch iPhone and a 3.5-inch iPhone, thats way too much iPhone versions and besides which resolution will they use for the 4.7 and 5.7 inch ones? they can't just keep doubling it otherwise they won't have enough GPU power for it.

Again, they are not phones but small tablets

No. They're phones. Easily portable - still fit in a pocket. My Skyrocket is just as easily handled as my iPhone.

If I wanted a phablet I'd switch to Android. Although, that said, I'd be pretty happy with a 4.3 or maybe 4.5" phone :)

So I'm confused - do you like the iPhone because of its size - or because of the OS?

People have different needs. I have a Samsung Ativ S with a 4.8" screen and I love the size. One of the reasons, why I no longer consider buying an iPhone is the small screen of the iPhone. But this is just my opinion. Other people prefer smaller screens. That's why other manufacturers offer phones in different sizes. This whole discussion is pointless.

We don't prefer smaller screens, we prefer small devices that fit in your hand and pockets.

They make Macbooks and iMacs in various sizes so why not iPhones? I'd like to see Apple have a few sizes, 3.5, 4, 4.7 and 5.7, that way you can pick and choose what's best for you. If we can get a iPad mini we can get a iPhone Pro;)

Hip, Hip Hooray!!

Hope you are right on the iPhone 5.7 inch.

My 60 year old fingers and eyes need more screen.

This would be my best Apple product since purchasing my first Apple IIe in 1977.

Please, Please, Please give us an larger iPhone!

with the whole "swipe navigation" on iOS 7, I think there may be new screen sizes in the near future. instead of trying to reach for the back button when in a message thread, you can just swipe back. this'll be handy on a 4.7" when you won't be able to reach it with one hand.

You use Messages with one hand?

Tablets have to be smaller, phones have to be bigger????? Confused, so we are going to end up with a Hybrid divice,a "phablet" or a "tabones" or something like that?? :D

Why don't all the big screen whiners buy a cellular iPad?

While I"m fine with the 4" of the current iPhone about probably the 5s I'd love a 4.7" but don't think my 3Gs will last another 18 months until late 2014 when these new sizes might surface.

I agree 4.7" is probably ideal and the biggest most people will want to carry around daily 5.7" might be a combo phone/table for those who need a bigger screen but don't want to carry around the 7.9" iPad Mini.

Also, I was just thinking I use my iPhone for music and with fitness apps while cycling, running etc.

As it gets bigger it becomes less practical for all these purposes.
I pray that the next generation iPhone get performance upgrades only

A 5.7" iPhone in combination with iOS 7 would be a match made in heaven. Let's face it, the 4" screen is no longer effective or enhancing. The strain on the eyes is too much to bear. It is torture. And while on torture, the iPhone badly needs Swiftkey and/or Swype keyboards. And soon. Agree with others that waiting a full year for the rumored iPhone phablet is way too long. We need (nay, demand) it in 2013. The low cost and 5s versions can certainly wait.

The smallest tablet Apple has is 8". The biggest phone they have is 4". Relax. There's a substantial difference in size there. They'll probably go to 5" or less with the larger iPhone and stop increasing there. I prefer the 4" iPhone and 10" tablet myself. Some people don't. It's nice to have 'some' options.
