I see what they’re doing it, but it’s sickening they spend any money on this administration.

The words "Trump administration" and "Obama administration" are used carelessly by the writer of this article. Some of the lobbying likely is covering republicans, but it is just as likely to be covering democrats and independents. Moreover, the lobbying covered both executive and legislative branches. The cited LD-2s do not identify a party or specific person.

The dems are contributing by not giving into a petulant whiny baby. How is that "both sides are bad" worthy? Trump for a year promised voters Mexico would pay for the wall. Idiots believed him. Now he has denied pay to 800,000 workers because he's mad that no one will give him 5 billion of American tax payer money to build his idiotic wall. Again, please explain how this is a "both sides are being bad" scenario.

Really? Are you really so blind as to think that this sort of thing does not go both ways. "If you like your doctor, you can keep your doctor." I personally know many people who were screwed over by this false statement.

And before you go getting ahead of yourself, I am not a republican. Just a free thinker not bogged down by ideology.

Apple is caught and the Trump administration is taking advantage of the situation for financial gains. There's nothing Apple can do but to suck it up. Just evil!

Trump is clearly homophobic - look at his body language sitting next to a gay man - very sad

God, I hope that you don't truly believe that you can look at a particular moment captured in time (a picture chosen out of dozens of others) and truly see into someone's soul.

A free thinker but obviously not a cogent thinker. One person and one person only created this shutdown. And he's the same person who can end it. It's not the Democrat's responsibility to give in to the idiotic whims of a serial liar.

Now link to the articles about how salary growth is at record lows and the number of uninsured and unemployed who have given up looking for work are at all time highs. Yeah, Trump is doing greeeeeeeat. That moronic shutdown of his is really helping too. Maybe the wall....I mean slats...that he promised Mexico will pay for but instead is asking for billions from American taxpayers will fix it.

You don't have to be an expert to read body language that is screaming out loud, frozen in a still. Look at these two - Japan's Abe and Drumpf!

I can't embed this snap:(.

Agreed. And with the inept negotiators we've had in office previously we've sold our soul to other countries. It's time we pulled a bit harder on the Global Tug of War and right the ship. Countries around the world have ridden on our back for too long. President Trump is the first to realize this and not do 'business as usual' and take a cut under the table to keep the status quo.

How else does Michelle and Barack leave office both worth $140 million within one year?
Poor America. Exploited by the world. Saved by the almighty Trump.

What is book deals for $200 Alex. Not sure where you got the $140 from but they both will make a mint from speaking engagements alone. Just like other Presidents before them and as will Trump.

This administration is doing a great job. Unemployment rate is at a record low, especially for African Americans and hispanics. But go on, keep yelling ORANGE MAN BAD

Presidents take the credit as well as the blame when employment is both good and bad, even when it's not their fault. Trump has very little policies under his belt that actually helped out the job market. Tax credits and some reversals of regulations are prob his biggest factors in jobs but even that has little to do with it and more to do with the economy in general which Trump plays little role in. The better businesses do in the long run, the more then tend to hire and business has been good for a while now, longer then Trump has been in office.

Short of that, again Trump has little actual polices under his belt that he's pushed for. A number of those that he does have were done via EO. Remember how much he hated EOs when Obama was in office, how times have changed. As others have pointed out, he now owns the longest running shutdown in history. That doesn't include his other problems that his admin is going through. 14+ investigations, largest turnover of administrative personnel in modern history, a temper fit for a 5 yr old, even lies more than a 5 yr old and more scandals then Nixon and Clinton combined under his admin. Shockingly most Americans care about those kinds of issues, so yeah it's a valid concern when people think "orange man bad".

Please don't pretend that both parties have not contributed to this shutdown.

One party wants the government(i.e. you) to fund a wall that Mexico was supposed to pay for(i.e. broken promise), and the other said no?

How do come to the conclusion it's both parties?

You’re really bad with graphs and dates.

It’s been at a downward slope starting in 2009. It reached a high point of 10% in October 2009 and has been dropping ever since steadily and continuing at the same rate it was left at in spite of having a much larger workforce now than then. At no point did it crest 10% again. Is October 2009 in the year 2009? Yeah? Then welcome to being wrong.

Fin.
Dropping steadily? It did reach peak in 10/09 and then was relatively steady @ 9.8-9.9 from 11/09-4/10

It wasn't a steady decline since 2009 as you claimed, more like mid to late 2011. It declined then held flat, went down some more, then spiked, then down. IOW a "normal" cycle post recession. It's continued that trend since then on a downward slope.

............

You're really struggling with this one. It peaked in October 2009. It never made it there again. There were months it went back up, but the trend was downwards. But it steadily went down from that point on, in spite of a monthly deviation periodically. That's why, your second line goes down......................................................

Seriously? Very scary. You know who also used to keep lists for future reference of people they disagreed with, or to be more accurate, people they knew to be wrong?

you know who also keeps lists of users? millions of twitter users. “lists” is a core feature built right into twitter being used everyday. but go ahead and try harder to paint me as someone who i am clearly not. you’re clearly failing hard here.

seeing as how you no longer want to talk about the government shutdown, that tells me you were clearly wrong in your reply about that subject and want to change the topic instead. typical trump behavior.

feel free to reply, but i’m not going to bother wasting anymore time reading anymore from you. infact, i’m going to add you to the list of ignored people that’s built right into macrumors.

Trump was handed a growing economy and even though he did give it a bump through a tax cut package, he’s undermined the tax benefits by waging a trade war. Moreover, most economists agree that Presidents have, overall, a relatively small effect on the economy. It’s hard for one person to steer a $20 Trillion marketplace.

I also seem to recall Republicans hyperventilating about Obama ruining the economy even as their 401ks kept going up every year and unemployment kept dropping. Also, Trump is doing what a regular Republican like Romney would have done, with the exception of the trade war. It’s just, you know, we get the craziness and lying on top of all that.
