Looks more and more like Apple panicked when Samsung released the Galaxy S8 and had to rush the iPhone X to market far earlier than intended.
That is exactly why I can't stand reports like this. This phone was not rushed. It just wasn't. And reports are just reports. They are not facts and they will never be facts. That is why they are called reports.

Seems appropriate:

Terry Gou
: Mr. Williams. This is an unexpected pleasure. We are honored by your presence.

Jeff Williams: You may dispense with the pleasantries, Chief. I am here to put you back on schedule.

Terry Gou: I assure you, Mr. Williams, my men are working as fast they can.

Jeff Williams: Perhaps I can find new ways to motivate them.

Terry Gou: I tell you that this product line will be operational as planned.

Jeff Williams: The CEO does not share your optimistic appraisal of the situation.

Terry Gou: But he asks the impossible. I need more men.

Jeff Williams: Then perhaps you can tell him when he arrives.

Terry Gou: [alarmed] The CEO is coming here?

Jeff Williams: That is correct, Chief, and he is most displeased with your apparent lack of progress.

Terry Gou: We shall double our efforts.

Jeff Williams: I hope so, Chief, for your sake. The CEO is not as forgiving as I am.
You missed the part at the end where Jeff holds his right hand out in a grip, and across the room, Terry Gou begins to choke. ;)

So an executive is having a meeting, where nobody knows the agenda, but we’ll pretend we know what it’s about based on rumors.
True. The nature of the meeting could be completely different. And if it really would be about the production issues he wouldn't have waited until the week the pre orders start.
And I am pretty sure that the only ones to know are the assistants and team members of both parties.

Conflicting articles. I am hoping I am able to get my hands on the iPhone X as soon as possible. My iPhone 6 Plus is on the brink of death! Lol. But what do you and don't you believe is the question. I wouldn't be too surprised if all this talk is to scare people into buying the iPhone X sooner. Fingers crossed I am able to get one on release date because I am scared my current iPhone won't even last that long! Two weeks today! haha. All will be revealed on October 27th what is happening stock wise ;)

Yeah, honestly. With such a product you'd think they're communicating daily or even more frequently to stay updated. Hell I'd imagine there's apple employees at Foxconn overseeing initial iPhone X production, especially leading up to such a launch.
I'm assuming they communicate more often, he's visiting this time.

Of course they're meeting. Jeff just got a few million in RSUs and his biggest work of the year is delivering a bunch of iPhone X phones to millions of people.

Can we start getting news articles when I meet with my stakeholders to discuss a project?

Why is this even news? Jeff should parked right now at the factories getting this right-sided
I remember one story when Cook was COO and was in some big-shot Apple meeting and a VP was complaining about supplier issues in China...and Cook looked at him coldly and said "Why are you still here?"

The VP left the meeting on the spot and jumped on a plane.

Like I’ve been saying, it’s gonna be MONTHS until most people get one of these. Deny it all you want but that’s the case.

That's what I'm wondering as well. With the sheer number of complicated new technologies and manufacturing issues, that doesn't bode well for the early adopters.

I agree it also means that some phones components will be from other manufacturers. Not every phone will be uniform.

If Chairman Gou is in any way related to Madam Gou, then Apple shouldn’t send Mr. Williams, they need the Defender of K’un L’un, the Immortal Iron Fist!

Agreed. Apple is a lot of things, but rushing to do something...nope. Case in point, the mini or the new iMac :)

Thank you for interjecting logic. When you read or hear when you have those who make anecdotal assertions about something that's rushed, there is no validation behind these frivolous reports. I mean, can Someone validate what's considered "Rushed" and how they know this about a product that's not even released, perhaps due to Manufacturing constraints. It's just a bloated report that doesn't add up to any evidence supporting what's considered rushed.

FaceID may be a convenient gimmick, but in terms of security its a complete joke.

Maybe I am missing something, but what is unnecessarily complex about the iPhone X? Would you have preferred a 2D FaceID that can be fooled by photos like Samsung implemented?

10th anniversary design release dates snuck up on them? Apple said years in making.

More like bad choices resulting in late changes.
What bad choices and what late changes. There is no evidence supporting this theory except for some "reports".

Damn, that silver back though. Nice!
Seems like Apple markets that color option the most over the space gray.

I stopped liking the jet black iPhone 7 and the space gray 8 looks nearly like it. Just shows scratches and fingerprints more. When I used the silver 8 Plus, I could barely see any fingerprints under direct lighting at Best Buy.

Silver was always the one I wanted since its announcement. It's two-tone looks kinda weird but it's more of the throwback to the white 3Gs which had a black front and white back with SS edges. The space gray 5s/SE and 2G all are two-tone too.

Space gray looks more stealth hiding the camera hump better and it looks more consistent as one-tone but naaaah. Smudge galore.

Yeah, Apple is for SURE risking the security of all their iPhone X customers. It's not like Apple has built itself up to be huge in terms of security and privacy. Yeah, they will release just about anything. Oh come on guys, please if you want to critique Face ID you are free to do so, but please use some real arguments and not just like; oh it's just sooo much less secure.

i was wondering why they are advertising the white one way more than the space grey. maybe they're having a harder time making the space grey frame or something. there has to be a reason
