-----You're not the only one who went this route. The Touch Bar is one of the reasons I bought an HP ZBook 17 G6 to turn into a Hackintosh. (Not that I'm doing the best job of it, but I'll get there.)
-----People still use and want optical drives in their devices. Not everyone has entirely dropped optical media in favor of streaming services. (The traffic we get at the library where I work as a page for DVDs and Blu-ray discs is evidence enough of that.) That the laptop I chose to make into a Hackintosh has a Blu-ray disc drive is another reason I picked it out.
