Good marketing move (if indeed lots of athletes use Apple Watches).

The US and UK bands are pretty similar, I wonder what the AU band would look like. Those bands appear to only support longitudinal stripes, which can be an issue with a lot of flags (I guess the Canadians can share a band with the Austrians :D )

Yah, I'm surprised that the Canadian band didn't incorporate the maple leaf anywhere.

I will say Apple does a great job in showing support in products such as this and various events, including the Olympics. They also made an Apple Watch band specifically for Pride in San Francisco last month.

Clearly you care by voicing your opinion on this specific article. Secondly, your negativity reference Apple 1996 proves nothing, Apple developing a band to show support for a major world wide event, and this references Apple of 1996? Ok.

Showing support or cashing in on popularity? I haven't been able to find any statements from Apple about them donating any percentage of the proceeds from the sales of these to anything related to the Olympics. Kind of makes me lean towards the latter, IMO. So, how exactly does this equate to them supporting the Olympics?

Have you spotted an Apple statement somewhere that says that the proceeds of these are going towards an Olympics-related charity? If so, then please share, because if it's a worthwhile one, then the more people that know about it, the better.

I think it's more or less showing support for the particular country being involved. I'm not interested in Apple's financial means, more so, their recent support in Pride Festival with a specific band for those participating. This post was strictly a commend, not a political debate.

Why all the sarcasm every time there's a new article on Watch bands? Frankly, you don't know how lucky you are.

In a few years' time when all Watch bands are soldered, you'll look back at these days fondly when you could upgrade the bands yourself.

soldered watch bands? people really have no idea how anything works do they. apple only solder a component when it could potentially prolong the life of a product without apple making money from it. that's why they don't like users upgrading their ram or whatever other components. when it comes to watch bands, why solder it when rich tools will spend thousands of dollars changing the esthetics of the watch whilst apple rakes in the 99% profit margins on every band.

You missed the point entirely and yes, I am serious. The fact they have decorum and courtesy for a major event. When they showed support for the Pride Festival in San Francisco last month was another reason they were supportive. These bands are not even available for the public, so clearly they are not concerned about profit margins In a limited edition band for special events. Sponsorship you say? Care to elaborate on Apple's 'Sponsorship' partake? I look forward to your reply.

The most unselfish act is when you give something away not expecting anything back. This fails the test spectacularly.

I don't have an Apple Watch yet, but I really like what Apple is doing with these bands.

It's a great device. It suits everyone differently. I really love how you can customize it and tailor to your specific likes. If you decide to pick one up, the Stainless Model is worth the upgrade with the sapphire display and 316L Stainless. And there are some great deals out their.

They are
I like the idea. I just wish you could buy them online.

I'm not a fan of the UK one though - it honestly looks nothing like our flag.

They are representing national colours rather than flags. So the Netherlands one is orange and the NZ one is black.

Ah, so we've sunk to a new low of holding Apple to the same standard as dull auto manufacturers. Sweet!

Oldsmobile's got fresher car models than half of Apple's product line. But but... WATCHBANDS!!!

"Dull auto manufacturers" like Tesla.

A watch, like a car, needs to be tailored to the owner's taste. Get over it, Apple is doing exactly the right thing with the Apple Watch.

This is both funny, and depressingly on-point

Good idea but poor for it to be limited to one store in Brazil. Apple should sell the strap of each nation in that nation, then there will be less people buying up the bands to sell them online.

I see Timdick and Pholdick rollong over each other in the boardroom:
"Make them as unavailable as possible.
Scarecity is the name of the game - whatever plumpudding we sell!"
