Cute, but wrong company.
Google has offered this ability for years... including being able to edit and turn off various data sections. Personally I have used it to remove some ad categories based on old interests, and to find out where I was on a certain date.
Apple is the one who's previously avoided letting its users know what info it has stored, which it has used and still uses to sell targeted ads with.
I don't believe you can turn off anything with Google... The ability to do that doesn't prevent you from being tracked.. its just gives you less personalized advertising.. Their whole business revolves around tracking. For Google to say 'Disable this to "prevent"'. would just seem strange to me..
Apple may have info on us as well, and apps we buy, use and so fourth,, how we use our devices (if we choose to grant permission for the sake for getting better improvements back), that's our own decision, BUT that is still a drop in the bucket, compared to the scale Google does
If I was to be worried, it would have to be about Google, not Apple.. because when you have that much power/scale you gotta wonder what Google ARN'T telling you.. That's the thing that should scare people more...
Compare that to Apple who, while keeps closed mouthed, at least the elastic wears thin over a much shorter distance. That, in turn, would be a life saver.. Its still a shame they wouldn't tell you everything, but i'd much rather not harvesting more info any day than not knowing what they collect.
(This would be true IF i told then accurate info , which i never do any company)
