Same here. I'm on the fence of getting one. If they keep the trade-in and throw in $100 or even a gift card I'd go for it. They will make a lot of money from AppleCare too.

Yeah - I'm interested in the XR as well...but I surely don't want to find out in a week or 2 there's a price drop. Now I'm just on the fence until we know more...if it takes too long...I'll be waiting for the next version.

The hardware is about 100-200 per iPhone 4-6 that recall, then marketing and support bla bla... it is defiantly a fatty fatt markup. 200% has been quoted in the past from financial dudes named Ben making estimates on actual markup. It is super big way more than 30%. It is the Appel greed man... iPhone X hardware is $370.25 cost to Apple, plust marketing bla bla bla... it is still way under the cost.

I don’t agree but then again I don’t care what a company makes on a product. The price is the price and you either like the value/price equation or you don’t.

The margins on the phones are more than that.

It depends what you buy, they profit on the storage upgrades too.
