Works great here.

Yea, as it seems to for the majority of people. I don't get why it won't work on mine, some sort of software conflict? I've tried rebooting, reinstalling, nothing. I'm on a brand new 27" iMac running Snow Leopard, this should work!

I'm Retarded...

I must be retarded cause the only thing it does is the same thing iChat... So far I can't make it work on the iPhone or iPod Touch...

What gives?

Isn't it supposed to give me Facetime on mac to iPhone and vice versa? I'm lost I don't get what I'm doing wrong here.

I don't have a facetime on my iphone.... I'm in London, is that the reason?

Can anyone give me a how to for dummies on this?

I'm on a MacBook Pro latest and latest iPhone. :/

Would love you till the end of time and name my first born after you... maybe..

;p

One of those meh apps. I hardly ever use the built-in camera on my iMac and MBP. I will try FaceTime, however seeing no use from the initial.

disable filters on peerguardian if you cant sign in:eek:

I don't have PeerGuardian. I do have Little Snitch which appears to be a similar app but I've tried to disable that and no luck. Even tried to uninstall it and still no luck.

Can Anyone Confirm if you need at least iOS 4.1 on the iphone to get this working? I am using a Jailbroken iphone 4 running 4.01 and would like to try this out but not if it means loosing myWi and my3G.

It's good to see FaceTime for OS X. It would be nice if they could make Windows and Linux versions. And since FaceTime is a "open-standard", why not make the application open-sourced. Just imagine what people could do with the code! We could have FaceTime on Linux or something. :)

Oh wait......I forgot. Apple does not do open-source. Maybe someone will make a Windows or Linux program for it or something. :(

Works fine on my network. But need over 3G at some point. Come on carriers!!! It not so much bandwidth on the end of the day. I wonder if jailbrake work for it. I decided to not jailbrake iPhone 4 but now I am thinking about it again.

I've tried it over 3g on my jailbroken iPhone 4 while in the great outdoors. Contacted my son via Facetime on his iMac and it worked perfect :)

If you don't have iOS v. 4.1, it will not work. Try updating your iPhone and iPod Touch with iTunes. If you have FaceTime devices, you will be able to use 4.1.

You do know that there is a jailbreak for 4.1 now, right?

Umm...can anyone tell me the point of this if you already have Skype? Pretty much everyone I know with iPhone 4s don't use Facetime, which makes this useless since I can do all my video chatting with Skype, and I can talk to both Windows and Mac users. This really should just be built into iChat, not a whole separate program, because by itself it's quite pointless.

Thanks for the reply, but I have everything updated including my iPhone...

:/

I don't know how to call the mac or from my mac call the iphone... :(

I feel useless...

Hmm...

Well, in a couple of hours, I'm sure if you do a Google search for "FaceTime mac walkthrough", Google will be littered with results. ;)

address book groups

Facetime should use of address book groups. I want the ability to create a facetime group in my address book.

You are not alone...

Hi Lyra,
I'm in the states and am wondering the same thing you are. I've been trying a way to figure out how to call my computer to test it out.

When I try to call from my computer to my Iphone I get a message saying "______ is not available for FaceTime.

Thank you!
:)

I'm sure it's cause I'm in London, I've never seen the function called facetime on my iPhone. :/

downloaded and used. it's better than using facetime on my phone since i don't have to hold it in front of me. cool to see my buddy's kid. and this one time will probably be the only time i use it.

I thought the same thing until I realized that I can get up from the computer and go down to the couch on my phone. I don't think you can do that with skype.

I can't log in either....anyone seen this (or better yet, fixed it)?

Weird. A FaceTime logo should be on the first page. Can you take a screenshot(by pressing menu and sleep button at the same time)?

EDIT: You have to go into Contacts and press FaceTime for iPhones. :D
