Inspired by the concept of “a piece of cloth”

My goodness.
I just ... I don't know what they are doing anymore.

Okay so I don't like how these look but they are interesting, out there, and something different to the bland accessories Apple have been putting out for years. A collaboration with a design house like Issey Miyake is also very cool.

This reminds me of the Apple that did the Bondi Blue iMac, rather than today's staid house of safe pastel cases. It's a miss (to me) but it's an exciting shot to have taken.

iPod socks were at least only $29 ($49 in 2025 value).

For something 3D printed, these are quite an exceptional rip off.
Luxury good inflation far exceeds regular inflation, because the rich get richer.

The inflation adjusted price of a ticket to disneyland has ballooned from $50 in the 80s to $200+ today. That’s a 4x inflation adjusted dollar increase.

If you can charge a price and people will pay it, I guess it’s foolish to leave money on the table.

But it does cause bad will and mockery.

See, I don't get this. We can disagree about business practices and operating systems all day long but the fact is Apple currently have the strongest device setup they've ever had, from the best value desktop computer in history to a can of soup phone that is a DSLR in your pocket. If none of us thought this we'd be over on WindowsCentral or AndroidAuthority putting the boot in.

Why do some people get so triggered by a company that makes $3500 VR headsets commissioning a $150 tote bag nobody on this forum would ever buy anyway? Are they not allowed to make anything fun?
The original Macintosh was a fashion statement.

Even the Apple IIc was a fashion statement compared to box computers of the day.

When Jobs was forced out, Apple became a box shaped computer company again.

The original iBook were fashion statements. Every iMac has been a fashion statement.

The Cube was a fashion statement.

The Blue PowerMac? No reason blue other than fashion.

The shape and design of the Mac minis? Certainly form over function there.

homePod mini?
