The amount of negativity on this product is astounding. Apple is a company that has a taste for style. Why do you think Steve had the engineers sign the inside of a Mac? It’s not about the hardware. It’s not about the software. It’s about an experience. One they deliver on.

Many people here respond to the product because it’s not for them. They think it’s overpriced. Some don’t see the point of the product. I think they are forgetting what Apple does. They do partnerships. Why do you think Apple still has Google as the default search engine? Because they think it’s the best available. Yelp in Maps? Yup, a partnership because they can’t do Yelp. iPhone cameras? The order from Sony. Many many parts fro many many products get ordered at Samsung. iCloud? Outsourced. The list goes on.

Back to Issey Miyake. His website kinda sucks. But boy, the products. The design. If there’s ever greatness, this is it. But don’t judge products from a website; go to a store. Get to feel the products. Feel the design. It is all so thoughtful, so well designed.

I think many here will want to rethink their opinion on design. Design that Apple is proud of.

Wow, Apple are now making it even easier for thieves to grab your iPhone than they are with the cross over body strap.
I'm not sure I understand this sentiment on this product. How does this make your phone any more susceptible to theft as the cross body, or just holding the phone in your hand? I certainly won't be buying one at that price, but I don't think I would feel any more at risk if I was using it.

It is about the experience, you’re correct about that. They are great at the experience of ripping people off.

I saw the article, and saw 200 comments. I'm not going to read them, but I can guess what they are. Just a reminder for everyone: you're really not forced to buy this. I promise you're not. It's fine. Also, another important thing to remember - the existence of this is not an attack on you, your identity or anything like that. Carry on.
What the F are you even talking about? Everyone is laughing at a ridiculous product at any even more ridiculous price. Pretty simple.

I’m commenting on it from the perspective of of someone who lives near London, which is the phone snatching capital of Europe.

I’m saying the cross body strap was bad enough for that - this is almost a premium phone snatching invite.

I saw this on Reddit this morning and legitimately thought it was a troll post. An early April Fool’s joke.

But then…

Wow.

Here we are.

Not to say it's not the case, I individually just can't make sense of it. I just don't understand how your phone is any more likely to be stolen if you're using a crossbody or a tube sock. People have their phones outside of their pockets just as much as they have them concealed, so I guess I just don't understand the narrative.

For $20 billion a year I'd also say it's the best available.
Apple makes far more money than that every quarter from iPhone sales alone. They wouldn't have agreed to the deal if they knew that google search would make their device worse. It's really a marriage of convenience here.
