Is there anyone on the planet that was not going to buy an iPhone who is going to be convinced to buy one because of a commercial with Fallon and Timberlake doing the voice over? Waste of money.

I like these ads. They're focusing on THEIR product and not BASHING a their competitors in a cheap way. M

Of course, people will complain. So to all the complainers, what would you do? Huh?

Instead of basing how about you come up with a better idea? That's right, you can't.

Yes, we get it. The iPhone 6+ is huge, but when you continue to repeat how huge it is, it just makes you sound like you're trying to play catchup. Kinda comes off being desperate.

Not even a week since launch..i guess bragging about the 'new' things is cool for still a week or 2

Douche chills. They need to pull these immediatley.

Keep it simple Apple...inspirational.

Does it really matter? If they made them too good Apple's fans would sue them again for over promoting when they are short on supply.

Real desperate when you sell more in 3 days than the competition is willing to confirm they shipped in 3 months.

As a marketing major, I'll still readily admit I'm not an expert, but the Timberlake/Fallon "huge" one sucks (haven't seen the other). That's harsh, I know, but it's harsh because this is for the most valuable company in the world. It leaves me thinking "wow that was pitiful, they tried so hard to be funny." Besides that, 95% of people won't know who's doing the voices unless someone tells them, they'll just think it's a couple of people who think they're funny.

Sorry, Apple. You can do a lot of things in-house and you do them excellently. I wish advertising were one of them, but advertising is something completely different. This is Apple thinking they can vertically integrate anything, it's arrogance. It's not much worse than their previous agency's work but it misses the mark.

Huh? Sounds like they are joking about how huge they are. Dosent sound desperate to me. Now those samsung ad's, those are blatantly desperate.

I was unapologetically amazed by these ads. Amazed that someone actually got paid for doing a glorified middle school A/V project.

Better idea? A child with a box of crayons and some construction paper could have come up with a better idea. These ads seem lazy; as if someone just gave up.

Bolded: Challenging the internet? Are you of the younger generation?

If you like the ads, good for you. Not everyone shares your opinion. I don't think anyone is bashing Apple. These commercials are just plain crappy... imo of course.

Reachability.

Concession.

I wouldn't say Reachability is a concession. It's the only way to make a large phone manageable. It really is common sense.

I'm a complete hypocrite because I own the 6 Plus and have been criticizing large phones for years. I accept my own hypocrisy. But I do argue that there has never been a large phone done as well as the 6 Plus. And Reachability plays no small part in that.

Back to the ads, though. I don't care for the "HUGE" ad. It feels forced. The other one was good, though. :)

I consider myself a real Apple fan. Do many of us real lack a sense of humor.

To each his/her own. Neither of those commercials contained humor, imo.

What does that actually mean: "real Apple fan"? Accepting of anything with one of these :apple: regardless of merit? Anyone offering criticism isn't an Apple fan? Not sure what you're saying there and I would hate to misinterpret your meaning.

These ads are so terrible that, when I first saw them on TV, I thought they were another Samsung mockumercial. Imagine my disappointment when I saw it was an Apple ad.

I don't know if this was an internal ad or a vendor ad, but they need to fire the people responsible immediate. We've had such a great run of ads and now this.

Oh, I think anybody with half a brain can come up with a better ad than either of these.

How about an ad that shows off various people using the large screen in situations that would be beneficial? I'd love to see an ad with three people with different size hands using the 5s/6/6+ at the same time.

Or, show real people using the iPhone with some of the new features of iOS 8 - like Health or Time Lapse.

These are my '11:00 at night' ideas - come see me after coffee tomorrow morning and I'll bring more.

Apple needs to go back to the classy/inspirational ads - those were great!
(Specifically the 'Every Day' ads.)

While these ads are weird and kinda dumb if you didn't know its Timberlake and Fallon, if you do, they are actual the more playful nicer ads imo. Much better than the change the world or the "verse" series of ads. Similar to the Mac vs PC ads from a while back. I actually like them.

I still would like them to use Justin Long and John Hodgman for these ads. Bring back the familiar voices.

I didn't know who these folks were until Tim Cook told the audience who they were. The "dun dun" ads were pathetic and stupid.

If you have to mention the people providing the voice overs for the weird ads, you blew it.

Perhaps at the end of these ads, they should list the names of the voices below the Apple logo?

These ads are obviously targeted at Apples large customer base. They are not meant for the technically minded. The average person will love these ads, and the average person is where Apple makes all it's money. If you personally think these ads stink...nobody cares. ;)
