Did you leave your plugged in most of the time? I noticed when I did that with other Apple’s devices the full capacity dropped regardless it if I set it to max charge at 80%.

I left it plugged in often before going to bed or before going to work. It’d often be down to 20% or so. So yes. That’s just my required charging style. It’s shocking how fast the battery drains with a few games every day.

Incorrect. The Magic keyboard released with the M4 iPad Pro in 2024 is compatible with both M4 and M5 models. Apple did not release a new Keyboard. Only updated the product page to support the M5 Model.

External displays up to 120Hz you say.... I mean I don't want to get my hopes up but I do hope there's a reason for that tidbit in the form of an updated Studio or Pro Display down the line.

Per the tech specs it's external displays up to 4K at 120 Hz and 60 Hz for 5K.

This is probably the first time Apple has explicitly listed the RAM size on its website alongside the built-in memory for the iPad.

Apple started listing RAM for iPads, at least in the Tech Specs page, with the M1 iPad Pros going forward.

Interesting to know how they're achieving 120Hz on external displays over Thunderbolt 3 video protocols. I assume DSC is being used, or because the iPad isn't outputting 5K so the 40gig bandwidth is sufficient.

The tech specs say 120 Hz is capped at 4K so that would be well within the limits of TB3 uncompressed without DSC, 5K is limited to 60 Hz.

I was really hoping apple making their own modems would make the cellular models less expensive, but I guess that was foolish.

I did hear Tim Cook wrestled hard with the decision about whether to bank the extra profit or pass the savings onto customers. I respect that. Apple genuinely does care.

It can't be downloaded for new users, but users who previously downloaded the Clips app, can still redownload it from your Apple account in the App Store.

Same with the 17. Comes pre-installed.

The video out protocol is still Thunderbolt 3 based. Even on the M5. Read the tech specs on Apple's own website.

I was starting to have FOMO about this iPad until I was working on a report for class and stupid Microsoft Word for iPad was frustrating me.

It is more than the chip - chipwise it is hard to find something the M1 cannot do fast enough on an iPad

Still - even my very old PreM1 iPad Pro (wall mounted) is fine from a performance point of view and doesn‘t „feel“ that much different from the M1 and M4 models.
