Apple's marketing team has been on fire lately, more so than normal.

Do you mean somebody lit a fire under them and they are burning?

I don't know if that would be a good or bad thing?

Siri has rarely worked for me, so I have not used it for years.
After every IOS update I try again, same problems.

Especially when I want it to play music, say a certain song , it wants to call somebody.

Remember the time, when apple products were so awesome, the actors were complete unknowns, and the ads were awesome. Now , we like the ads cause super star actors make them good.

innovate so the products are awesome again! You are following Beats advertising here....mega stars, to push your products.

What I meant was their marketing team has published some great promotions and advertisements lately. Very witty and clever marketing. Apple seems to be investing in more commercials than I have seen before, versus Billboards and magazines.

I just tried the same thing with Siri on my 6s. It didn't work. It just started reading ALL my notes to me #useless

Siri is just a chatbot that happens to know how to call your contacts. How about a Siri API for developers in iOS 10? Would love to:

"Hey Siri, request an Uber X" Uber
"Hey Siri, order my favourite pizza" Dominos
"Hey Siri, email the last drawing I did on Procreate to my mom" Procreate
"Hey Siri, translate "I can't wait for the Apple Watch 2" to Japanese" Microsoft Translate
"Hey Siri, send a WhatsApp message to Sophie saying "Meet you at 4"" WhatsApp
"Hey Siri, play Game of Thrones Season 6 episode 3" HBO Now

A man can dream.

Apple has shared a new television commercial called "Thank You Speech" starring actor Neil Patrick Harris. The new 30-second spot promotes hands-free Siri on iPhone 6s in a humorous tone.

Harris asks Siri to read him his "thank you speech" while he stands in front of a mirror practicing with a hairbrush. The How I Met Your Mother star previously had a quick cameo in Apple's recent "Onions" ad.

Apple previously promoted hands-free Siri with its acclaimed "Timer" ad starring Cookie Monster from Sesame Street, with was accompanied by a humorous behind the scenes video. It also shared an ad called "Hey Siri" in December that specifically shows off the hands-free feature.

Honestly can't say that I liked it.

Now ask yourself - why might Apple be starting to spend a lot more money on advertising. What makes the most sense?

I don't need to ask myself any questions. I think we all know WHY Apple is spending big money on advertising. But thanks for attempting to challenge me with a rhetorical question.

I really wasn't trying to challenge YOU. Sincerely. It was rhetorical.

you mean when they made ads with will ferrel in 2002? or when they did the think different campaign using iconic figures?

I understood what your post stated the first time, it's not my first day. No need to remind me it was rhetorical. It's Macrumors, not Literature. Moving on.

For all of you saying that Siri doesn't sound natural, you're right! Luckily, for the uniformed, I am here to inform you. You can change the voice to a males voice, which sounds much more natural. In fact, my Siri has been a man since 2013! For those of you who are uncomfortable with a male Siri (because you have a stereotypical gender bias, prefer the voice of a woman, or for whatever reason) I encourage you to try the Australian accent. Or English accent? Wait I'm pretty sure they're different. Either way, get out of the iOS 6 Siri Stone Age and change her (its) voice! You're welcome

For those who are both informed and don't like the Steve Hawking accent of their American Siri (or other accents), I agree. Apple still needs to continuously make Siri more and more natural.

I think you are confusing NPH with Barney Stinson.
Yeah, I was going to say, Barney Stinson is half the reason I avoid How I Met Your Mother, but I didn't know the actor was so annoying too.

I thought they were adding that in iOS 9, but maybe I confused a dream with reality. This is definitely something Apple should do.

It's incredible the amount of resources they are spending on Siri ads whilst in practice it still fails. Must be that celebrities really know how to use it (?)
What's bad about Siri? Siri's voice recognition has gotten very good, I guess because they've been training it for a few years now. It's been very useful for me.
