I know the focus of these ads are third party apps, but they should make an ad highlighting the activity and fitness apps. That's the main selling point for me so far.

I think Dark Sky is my favourite Watch app and its app and the glance load so fast now its great! I love getting a tap when rain is due within the next hour

What Apple Watch are you using? I agree with the poster you quoted. These apps do suck. The whole watch experience sucks now. Maybe not in the future m, but right now yes.
I agree, yes apps work and I use them all the time, but they are slower than crap. No way is it a glance experience right now. Some times apps do not even load and just crash. When they load fast (5seconds) it's great, but something is happening on the watch and phone that causes apps to take 10-30 seconds to load. Only way I can get them to load within 5 seconds is to kill every app on my phone and reboot the watch. I really hoping that watch OS 2 fixes this because I find the apps I have installed very useful and plow through the lag hoping better things are on the way. If not watch goes on eBay

Yeah, third party apps isn't what I'd highlight right now. Until they are native, most are close to useless. As cool as it is controlling your lights or hailing an Uber from your wrist, most of the time you are staring at loading screens or tapping to reactivate the screen as it turns off while loading.
Couldn't agree with this more.

First of all, I'm still not convinced that 3rd party apps are ever going to be that good on a watch, but now they are just awful. Ultimately, I do think 3rd party apps will be good, but it won't be the same mentality as the iPhone. Each person will probably gravitate to a small number of 3rd party apps (2-5) that meets their use case. For example, the main app I'd want is a run app (that I don't need my iPhone to use).

All I can think about is a point in the future when the 2nd gen Apple Watch will go on sale for $150. Wake me after all those years go by :p

That's funny. Do YOU have a watch?

I do. I have those apps.

And guess what. They work.

I'm actually amazed how well most apps are working. Pretty impressive when u think that they are residing on your iPhone (for now)

Sorry...I got to call foul. Yes I have an Apple Watch, and yes I have used those apps and NO, they do not work anywhere close to that speed. These commercials are preparing you for when they go native in September

The ads are well done and fun but some of these apps are pointless on a watch. Anything that takes longer than a 10 second interaction shouldn't be on the Watch. Anything with pictures in it should not be on a watch.

Why not? My niece absolutely loves seeing pictures on my watch. She's 2 years old. I have a picture of her birthday party, and every time she sees me, she asks me to show her the picture. On my Watch, not on my phone. She also LOVES the Mickey face.

I'm not doing serious photo viewing with the Apple Watch, but I have a few special photos on it. It's like a little locket with special pictures, always attached to you.

Much of the things I love about the Watch overlap my iPhones capabilities. The big difference is the Watch's location, always there, a glance away, hands free. I think it's great.

Still not interested , maybe FaceTime could excite me but I doubt it .

I absolutely don't get people wanting video chat or video play in a tinny screen (along with bunch of other things that only make sense on a larger screen) But each to their own I guess.

It's really simple. Show examples where people uniquely need the watch.
Its not that simple, really. The watch has very little utility except for people who need to scan notifications in real time.
I think app development for a postage size ui won't be magical. The watch is a solid niche product for uncritical brand enthusiasts.

my signature says I have one and the multiple Apple Watch posts would suggest that I have one... I don't know you decide... Half if not more of AW apps all have a lag / wait issue. Shazam does not work as advertised, even the integrated Siri is 50/50 ... I guess you have the one AW where all app's magically load quickly and work. Congrats, want a donut?

I can see this big empty space between the presentation of the Apple watch ads and the iPhone ads..

Nothing to fill.

These watch ads are terrible...

In actual fact, my take is the iPhone ads are better... but if simplicity is what u like..... u got it... This is about as simple as u can get.

Music in Apple ads has really changed after Dr. Dre joined the company. It's often less emotional and more and more hip hop.

Poor ads, it's like they are not trying, not sure why they needed three themes there, they could have done it with one. The examples did not even show how these apps are optimised for AW. They need to focus on why you need an AW, these ads fail on this account.

Might as well got with, if its not an AW, it not an AW.
