Apple Phone. :apple:

You really think Apple will drop the i next year. I think 'iPhone' is too iconic of a name for Apple to drop (unlike 'Air' for example), but I could be wrong. Then again, if you think about it, maybe changing the name would be a good idea to "refresh" the brand?

Are those people OK?
They are fine. It is a still taken from a video stream. Whenever one moves and talks, there is an instant that a body transition looks hokey going from one pose to the next.

It is a dick move for someone to take that awkward frame and post it as a still making the subject look bad.

Then again, this is MacRumors and many on here have way too many forgotten Hot Pocket wrappers laying around their computer.

Wasn't Billy Graham a conservative evangelical Christian who endorsed both Richard Nixon and Mitt Romney, but opposed John F Kennedy? Hmmmm? I guess there are times when politics take a back seat even at the ultra politically correct Apple.

Billy Graham was.

Bill Graham, however, was a well-known rock impresario and concert promoter. More info...

I like the random people passed out on the grass.

"That's probably pretty safe, right?"

why people lay down on grass ,
look like playground park -

Because Apple is holding its event in San Francisco's Civic Center Plaza area, which, due to SF's municipal support for homeless populations (this city with a population of 700k spends $250 million annually on services for less than 5k "clients"), is a major magnet for homeless people, mentally ill people living on the street, and the illegal drug trade. In fact, the photos posted on this thread showing a clean, pristine Civic Auditorium entrance are entirely attributable to Apple Security. The entire exterior of the venue, especially the front doors, is normally taken over by encampments.

When Apple is not present, nearby performing arts venues, such as the Symphony Hall and the Opera House, have to post private security guards all along the pedestrian route to BART (the Bay Area's commuter rail system) that passes through Civic Center Plaza to protect their often elderly audience members from getting robbed or assaulted.

I have seen that first hand.

When you experience the predatory mindset of homeless in the City, you just want to see Darwinism take it's course. Then these bums die on the street with their bodies burned as fuel powering the streetlights.

The politics of supporting homeless and other criminal activity is why I never moved into the City.

Correct. There was a fight over trademark concerning these namesakes. It came to an out of court agreement that the preacher is "Billy Graham" while the rock promoter is "Bill Graham." Supposedly each party was trying to pursue the other to change their stage name.

I hope they explain their reasoning in an obvious enough way that it is clear why the pros outweigh the cons for most people.
I'm thinking they will announce and explain at length a great new Bluetooth protocol that is very hi-fi, then explain how their Beats AirPods has the cleanest sound, then a quick announce about the included adapter.

FaceTiming

Oooooo. I remember when Jobs annnounced FaceTime it was meant to be open/cross platform but a company in South America claimed patent rights and won a 5 year injunction allowing FaceTime use only on Apple systems and with royalties.

This would line up with that time frame but it would have been seen during development. Anyone have any news on that FaceTime IP lawsuit?

Interesting question. I had forgotten about the lawsuit. Would love to see an update on it as well.

Goodbye and good riddance to the ancient headphone jack!
It'll probably go somehow like that. Back in the Palm device days, there was a major bitch fest constantly during a new product announcement when they had an audio jack with a 2.5-mm connector instead of the more common 3.5-mm connector. One of the justifications given was that the 3.5-mm connector took up too much space in product design. The real reason was Palm wanted to see higher margin headsets. Instead it created a rush in the sales of 2.5-mm to 3.5-mm audio jack converters.

Sadly no, because almost everyone there always claps like a complete idiot, while being amazed at even the smallest stuff like when they changed the name from Mac OSX to Mac OS...

I'm not saying throw fruits lol, but don't clap for the dumb stuff and just stay quiet when they announce something laughable like another year of 16gb iPhones while charging you 100$ to upgrade it.

Have some self respect is all I'm saying.

When they announced Apple Music and Cue announced '... You can stream any song on iTunes!' There was silence, so he moved on.

I always look forward to a keynote, bad or good. Quick show of hands: who'll be doing the drinking game with me?

Count me in.

Tim Cook says 'only Apple can do this' ... 1 shot!

Does anyone know if this live stream will be viewable in Windows 10 on a PC using the EDGE browser, like a few recent Apple events have been?

I see already people 'snoozing' on the grass, lol

Are you Tim Cook? He's also always using the words 'amazing' :D

So read it back hearing Tims voice. It could be him you never know.

If he says it's super to see you ... then we have him.

Right we need some rules and a points system.

I recon; obsession, collaboration, only Apple can do this, it's really incredible and it's just really nice ... are all worth 50 points and are a straight shot.

Thursday the 8th here in Perth, because u guys are behind us but i'm always a night owl :)

Haha, I'm in ^^ I remember the previous one being quite funny. And then some crazy feminist here got angry at me because I sarcastically said the fat woman (who was talking about the health app on the watch) sure looks like she uses the app a lot. Making it seem like I attacked the woman for being a woman rather than a hypocrite who talks about being all healthy. :D
